The US military can defeat a Chinese invasion of Taiwan: Gen. Milley

.
Sounds like you can’t handle reality. He clearly stated the US has the capabilities it needs to defeat a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. Care to test US?
Then care to test China? US had been tested by Russia multiple times. Lol
First win the war in Afghanistan.
Mofos had to retreat now.

The fact you believe you or any poster on PDF has better insight on this subject than the top General of the US Armed Forces is absolutely laughable. He has access to US war plans against China and receives the highest level of military intelligence on Chinese forces and plans.

Your grasping at straws

So because hes high position everything he says is the word of god? unfortunately for you, china is an atheist nation(the us is suppose to be as well - separation of church and state - but that's been polluted as of late)

I don't pretend to know more than him, i only pointed out that what he believes is not necessarily true, he may have access to the us military, but he does not have 100% access to the chinese military and a battle would involve both. germany believed that they could take out the soviets in a 5 month war, thats with knowing the germany militar and intelligence on the soviets. that didnt turn out so well did it? the japanese believe they could take out china in 3 months in ww2, that also didnt work did it?

plus intelligence runs both ways, the chinese military believes they can take taiwan regardless of whether the us intervenes and they have access to their own stuff plus intelligence on the us military. so its a wash.

not to mention the us intelligence network was virtually wiped out in china.

There a reason that the us hates Xi personally more than just being the leader of china, Xi oversaw the "dismantling" of us spy network in china and through his war on corruption, prevented new informants from being planted easily.

and lastly. i didnt say he was wrong. he could very well be right, but again he made no context. everything has a cost. is nuclear war the cost of preventing a chinese invasion of taiwan? is losing 6 of 11 carriers the cost? is giving up europe and the rest of the world to the russians the cost? he didnt say.

Considering Milley is the top General in the US Armed Forces he would have better insight than just about anyone on the subject matter.
Macarthur , highest US commander in Korea war also brag before about ending Korea war in Dec 1950 with allied victory. Guess what...

Even a guy like Trump (an expert draft dodger) understands that the US can't do anything about it. China is like 2 feet away from Taiwan and the US is 8000 miles separated in his own words. Fighting China right in front of our doorstep, virtually unlimited land based missiles, and the biggest Navy in the world which is only growing bigger and more powerful in an unprecedented speed the US has no hope of making a chance. All US military bases in South Korea and Japan will be wiped out lets see how they brag about their stealthy F-22.

China would probably build hundreds of thousands of CB90 and hundreds of large transport and attack helicopters, many with indirect weapons (such as gps guided mortars) to swarm the Taiwanese defense.

at a certain point it would become a numbers game. With the right kind and volume of munitions, the Taiwanese porcupine would get pierced.

After the Afganistan fiasco I highly doubt it…..

The US taxpayers money isn’t for this current bunch of losers. President Trump, a seasoned businessman, is right about these folks….

China already has thousands of short range ballistic missiles and rocket artillery that can hit Taiwan from Chinese mainland.

Gen Milley and DefSec Austin were in testimony before the US Senate Armed Services Committee. Their required, under penalty of perjury, to answer these questions and truthfully before Congress.
These are political hearings for public consumption. This was held to reduce the noise and doubts about US capabilities since botched Afghan exits. Selected group of vetted senators are already briefed behind close doors about the real cost of Taiwan adventure.

After running war games over Taiwan, Director of Intelligence (PACOM) came to conclusion, that Chinese strategy will be of Shock and awe. Once Chinese made the decision to invade, they will come after Taiwan like a mad man with an axe.

US has already informed Chinese side that if war happens to break out in pacific there is nothing off the table (referring to Nukes). The Idea is ambiguity of madness . If Chinese were to act like a mad man with an axe, expect much crazier mad man with an axe on the other side of Pacific. (US will not hesitate to use tactical or conventional Nukes).

Question isn’t about can US stop the invasion, The real question here is, Do you think US Govt, establishment, and the public are ready and willing to start a nuclear war for a small Island (That is a foreign land)? And the answer is quite clear, No.

Sure US credibility and stature will further be dinged, but this is a small price compare to losing aircraft carriers in pacific and end up into a slippery slope toward exchange of nuclear weapons.

Young man every general have got job to do and obviously he is not going to say he is incapable or job is too big for the US. Proof is in the pudding and is going to be decided on the battle field not in the political offices. Taking Taiwan is not going to be easy for the Chinese but its not impossible.

It’s the Senate Armed Services Committee. Their required to ask these type of questions.

And Gen Milley stated they had the capabilities to defeat a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. He made that abundantly clear.

Oh you mean like when they lied about WMDs in Iraq?
Oh you mean like when they lied about chemical weapons and arming terrorists in Syria?
Oh you mean like when they lied about crackdowns and arming terrorists in Libya?
Oh you mean like when they lied about Uighurs and arming terrorists in China
Or when the exact same general said that Afghanistan won't fall out the hands of its U.S. puppet regime and its U.S. trained mercenaries any time soon?
Not everyone here is paid by the U.S. regime to drink their koolaid

Stopping China is not an issue but the cost is. It would be calamitous decision to confront and engage China directly and who knows where it would lead to. We know Taiwan would be utterly devastated and there is risk of a foreign war coming into US main land for the first time in its history. China has the main and most advantage of close proximity to the battle ground and the US would have the disadvantage of having to funnel and redirect money from civilian social programs which could undermine the US federation in what would become a very costly confrontation. It is easy for General Milley to say "Yes" just like it was easy for General Myers to say "Yes' to the invasion of Iraq. Getting out of Iraq quagmire was relatively easy but getting out of a war with China will be more difficult and have far more politico-military long lasting consequences. If the invasion of Taiwan fails we could see a rapid demise of the Chinese communist party and transformation of China into a full fledged capitalist state with new states. War on/with Taiwan is a high stake game for all and would determine a new world order and perhaps elevate India or Russia to new positions.
