What's new

The new war epic film is a masterpiece ''The battle at lake Changjin''

.
Definitely not my kind of music, but I cannot deny what's in front of me.

BTS is extremely huge
Not really my type of music either but to be quite honest, kpop and kdramas have really helped Asian men who have historically been treated like shit by the white and Jewish run media.

.
Kpop revolutionized the Asian image globally. BTS and Blackpink are among the most popular musical groups today. These are undeniable facts.
Many people are surprised for Kpop achievements globally. It is easty to understand. Chinese and Koreans have most beautiful features among all human races. This fact was concealed until recent years because the two countries used to be in miserable position and westerners deliberately uglified Chinese images(Of course Cantonese did make contribution to the stereotype). Japanese culture had been known globally decades ago but Japanese don't have good looks. They use virtual images (animes) as substitution.

Every race has good looking people. I’m personally not very attracted to Asian women even though objectively many are beautiful but I like other types. I have usually only been in relationships with non Asian women so I will admit that the popularity of kpop and kdramas have helped me since I can be classified as a conventionally attractive Northern Chinese man so I have similar looks to some of the popular Korean actors. I have literally had White, Black or Latin girls come on to me in clubs and even in public.

I don’t think any one race is the most attractive, it just depends on your own preference which can change over time. The problem is when the media selectively glorifies one race and puts down other races as the western media has done for over a century.

Movie like Changjin Lake is just for domestic audience.

Xi and higher-ups in China think current dramas and girly men idols targeting female audience in China sucks (which I agree wholely-heartly), they want to reshape a more manhood culture among youths.

Cannot blame them, its an open secret Xi want to be the president that accomplish something even Mao could not: China reunification, I believe that will happen within 2-5 years timeframe, once China gain peer-level strategic nuclear arsenal vis-via the US to prevent the US from nuclear blackmailing.

From this point of view, the general public need proper mental preparation for possibly a large scale war, if not a global one, in the near future(CCP leaders always prepare for the worst case scenario before taking action), I don't think China/CCP care very much about global populity or soft power at this very moment of history, their most urgent goal is reunification.

Anyway, I have been long on many defense-related stocks since last year.

Blacks are not so photogenic, but in real face to face engagement, women get enchanted by the hyper-masculinity and hyper muscle mass. There is a built in genetic coding among women to mate with the most healthy men to get healthy offspring.

I must disappoint you. It plays almost zero role in europe.
Statistics say otherwise, and that's all I care about.
Yes, I'm not a nerd. I've heard of Genshin Impact. Never heard of Wei Wuxian. But again, appealing to the nerd demographics has a huge limit. That's why Japan's soft power has been eclipsed by Korea's.

China's large cities are now basically as developed as most developed countries. In fact, they are more dynamic and modern in many ways. The population of those cities combined is more than the US so I think China's development status at this point is not what is holding it back. I think the main things holding it back are political first and foremost, and cultural, secondly.

But yes, Genshin Impact has made significant headway.

Developed nations tend to project more soft-power because they have more resources, more refined everything, wealth is attractive, even if someone films in the most remote of Japanese village that will look as artistic, pristine as anything can be.

My point was more toward the freed mind ,Chinese cities has gotten really wealthy in past 20 years but it would have taken 20 more years for their minds to get rich. The generation that grew up in kpop/anime/korean drama-movies will have higher standard and strive for more perfection compared to the current senior content creators.

Chinese cities got rich and china is moderately wealthy and able to project softpower but it hasn't entered the "zone" which Japan & Korea are in ,they make culture content in perfect manner like breathing . All and everything that are in top of their game are in that "zone" take the chinese volleyball team in their prime or the Japanese animators ,YG/SM kpop producers they are in that"zone" one can sense it .

I think there's a socio-cultural factor in play when you compare China with Korea or Japan.China has tasked itself with reinventing itself as "communist heaven",that's slightly less natural for any society, especially one like china, despite its affinity with socialism. The Lenin-influenced socialist twist makes it more challenging for an ancient civilization to showcase its true image with Chinese cultural projection. That's extra mile to cover. While Korean and Japanese project their natural self with much greater ease.

There's also some industry factors.Korean dramas are 18-20 ep long in average,Japanese 8-10,meanhwile chinese 40--60,and China produces these works in breakneck pace, a chinese actress films 4-5 drama with 40+ ep each in a year meanhile a korean films one at best in a year and takes a long break after each hit.One can tell why Korea can focus more on quality.Korean producers have it in the back of their mind that their drama will be followed by global audience ,hence they strive to produce higher quality stuff, meanhwile many Chinese producers, produce drama with no such consideration, they are in for a quick return with focus on quick sale to chinese web distributors.

And compared to Korean ,the flaws of Chinese mass produced script, the lack of coherence, make it seriously hard for non chinese to keep up with it in 40 ep long series and struggles to make the audience feel invested for long. It's absolutely wonderful to instill local cultural element but it's equally vital to project it in a construable manner. The quality of script has to improve ,whether it's anime, manga,or drama. Many Chinese drama producers are like simply adding some visual scenes on top the famous Chinese sagas that only the local people are familiar with and will get ,along with the practice of using short trope lines from ancient writings, that makes it a clusterfuck for foreigners to comprehend, instead of producing the whole thing for as a film work which anyone can construe and enjoy. And that's a problem with chinese shows .

Take this manhua for example
1634012263751.png

This manga/manhua RAVAGES OF TIMES,it started well, has great art,but the plot got seriously confusing and less coherent as it progressed, one will not face such debacle in manga or manhwa, there the plot gets more clearer as the reading progresses.Only chinese audience will be able to keep up with this.

Here's some english translation of illustration comics made for locals in Imphal, that's based on local mythology and gods ,native people actually worship the protagonist,it is still easy for non-native readers who aren't aware of cultural context to construe .

This ^^

Unlike @kankan326 spouting Asian racial Supremacy, there are good looking people with good features in many ethnic backgrounds.

I've never understood people who only liked one type man. Like some Asian guys, they only like this:

Or some White guys, only like Blondes:

In contrast, these below are all my types lol

Agreed. But Chinese content has been rising significantly in the past few years but there are many areas of improvement. I think in animation and gaming, China has made huge strides. But is still lacking in dramas and making globally appealing films.

South Korea however really singlemindedly resolved to make itself into a huge cultural powerhouse though with state support, 20 years ago, and they succeeded.

I do agree about the promotion of masculine images though. The trans obsessed bullshit in the West has gotten out of control. Also the men wearing makeup bullshit prevalent in Kpop cannot be allowed to spread to China.

You’re talking about kpop? There are tons of Kpop fans in Europe. I know some Asian guy friends who told me they easily got dates there because there were so many koreaboos. Maybe you don’t see it because you’re not interested in it but I think kpop is more influential in Europe than in the US even.

As for tencent, any European gamer would have played their games as they are literally the biggest gaming company.

True. China’s huge domestic market is both a plus and minus.

Nope, its not a big thing over here.

I play Xbox and Nintendo. There is zero games of them.

So Greeks do not play mobile games? Or online games?

It might not be your thing, but it doesn't mean it isn't big.

The French actress is Sophie Marceau. She has French features not Asian. LMAO I've been to France, she looks very French.

Anyways, to each their own. It is normal to only like one type of girl in a homogeneous society I guess. But I've been around every type of race and my preferences change depending on who I am interacting with. It's a matter of exposure.

.
Don't think so much. As long as the box office of ''The battle at lake Changjin'' is good enough and it can rank at the top of the world box office list, it can have a great impact around the world. Because every country has many fans who search for movies through ranking. Moreover, many people are very interested in the story of "the tragic defeat of USA in the frontal war".
A film does not have to gain influence from the movie theater.
If the box office of this film really exceeds that of avatar……

But one of the positive of the mass churning out of drama movie content,is that,China can literally flood internet with their tv shows .That has an effect like throwing gumballs on the wall until some sticks, this is nonetheless superimposing chinese softpower ,even if not at the scale of BTS ,squid games. And thanks to that ,China has indeed created a decent followers of their content, mostly in developing world, south asia,South America,Africa,Middle East,South East Asia. But at some point from Chinese perspective,it has to rise on the pecking order, just like in manufacturing in high tech. The way things are,it'll not be enough for future.
