Agree. People forget that the soviet Union was also heavily involved in the war, albeit not directly. Stalin sent lots of soviet pilots, arms, equipment and logistics officers in Korea to aid the DPRK and Chinese throughout the duration of the war. To act as if it was only China who was fighting fighting US single handedly is false .
Moreover, China was fighting the US closed to its borders(might as well been like fighting at home)and they intervened when they US had already been engaging the North Koreans for some time. It's like say Russia fighting the US in say Mexico or Canada. If Russia can even last 1month I will give them my respect. Lol Much less hold their own and maintain their control over the country.
The US is situated the other side of the world. To have been fighting a war thousands of miles away from home soil the other side of their continent against 2 big powers (China and even more so the mighty Soviet Union) close to their own borders and still managed to hold their ground was nothing but impressive actually if we look at it that way as well.
It's also for similar reason China was never able to take small Taiwan. Fighting a war close to your country's land border for a big power is easier than fighting a war across the ocean/sea, with everything that entails as logistics, transport, equipment, training etc. Easier said than done in that case.
Do you know how many allied troops of USA participated in the Korean War? It is wrong to pretend that USA is fighting China alone.
Yes, USA is indeed fighting across the Pacific, but it is true that USA has an absolute firepower advantage. Your opponent is using such equipment to fight you, and the Chinese had advanced from the Yalu River to the 38 line.
