The Muslim World | Medusa's Wreck!

The fall of the great Ottoman Empire was due to the fact that the empire had neglected the need for social and technological advancement and hence while in the Enlightenment period in Europe the ottomans never brought around a scientific revolution, this mistake was a major reason for their downfall as while the west became stronger they became weaker. The Muslim world is alot like that today we have spent ages fighting with each other over stupid issues, the Sunni-Shia divide has probably cost us years of cultural and technological advancement. The only way for a strong muslim world to unite under one banner would be when we let go of petty rivalries and finally learn to work with each other. Only strong alliances between the muslim countries will make the muslim world a power that the entire world will look up to.

.
Islamic countries in the future of the alliance, similar to NATO, this is a foreseeable trend.

While your understanding is corect your analysis is primitive. These people don't kill in the name of religion. They are mercenaries who will kill anyone (Mostly Muslims) as long as someone is paying them to do so. They use religion as a tool to draw support, do propaganda and recruitment for their malicious enterprise.

Tks for your reply bro,

I think what you mean is Muslim Unity not Muslim World. A Muslim World does exists and it occupies a central place in the World Map.

I admit that there is no Muslim Unity at the political level, but, it did exist in the past, result was great Muslim Empires in the East and West; you can not deny this fact, it's history and it's repeatable.

Lets talk about Muslim Unity at social level. There is are a large number of Muslims driving cabs in Washington D.C. One of my uncles also drives a taxi in Washingtion D.C., he told me the very next day Pakistan did the Nuclear tests, he went to the Taxi stand and on that day whichever Muslim cabbie he met, whether from morocco, tunisia, Jordan or Indonesia, they congratulated him; even those people who had never talked to him, came to him and congratulated. On that day for a brief moment of time all of them were proud of an achievement of the Muslims, they were all happy, all together congratulating, All Muslims.

What is meant by "Muslim World" is the romanticized concept of the Muslim Ummah. There is no such thing.

During the past century, Europe was so divided it fought two World Wars, death toll was 70 Million people. But now, they are together; one EU passport and you can hop from one end of European Union to other.

If we look at Muslim Past, they were just scattered tribes of Arabia. Under the leadership of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Message (Quran) they conquered large swathes of lands that were governed under a single Muslim ruler, they were successful and prosperous in their times.

Prophet (PBUH) was only the Messenger, his job was to convey the Message.

All the past glory was possible due to the Message (Quran), and that Message is still with us - unadulterated, it teaches us hope and unity. As long as the Message is with us, and as long as we have faith in it, there will always be hope for a 'Muslim World' (Ummah).

.
Never going to happen. Even if they try something like that, they will be eliminated by the west.

The West is already struggling with a new enemy. Putin has become a thorn for the West and his dreams for Eurasia could act as a perfect counter to the West. An Islamic Bloc with friendly relations with Russia and China would make us untouchable.

Yes Sir, but you seem to ignore that the European union that you cite as an example was brought about by secular education and economic progress, not on the basis of religion.

Religion is deeply encoded in the lifestyle of Muslims, which is why many Muslims see it as part of their identity and as a uniting force.
I mean while Christianity also tells Christians to practice regular charity, prayer, pilgrimage, and fasting, it is not as firmly set as it is in Islam. We even have a guideline to follow on the more trivial aspects of our lives through the Prophet (PBUH)'s Sunnah.

Of course religion as a personal matter is perfectly okay and indeed desirable. Islam is indeed a complete code of life for the individual. But it must be kept separate from all matters of State. We can see all around us what happens when this partition is not present or breaks down.

No.
That's wrong. We haven't seen Islam integrated in our government. What we've seen are laws made by dictators in order to please religious extremists in a country still filled with poverty, corruption, feudalism, crime and underdevelopment. This is what will happen.

Sir, the Objectives Resolution was passed not by a dictator, but by an Assembly, and has destroyed the country slowly but surely from within, by mixing religion and state irreversibly.

How?
Did this so called Religious Integration harm the country for the first 20-30 years? It was only until the '90s that we began facing a serious problem of religious militancy.

There is a verse by our National poet - Allama Iqbal:

1.GIF

Translation:

Judge not your nation on the criteria of Western nations
Special in composition is the Hashimi Prophet’s nation

If I go back again to the times of Muslim glory, Muslims were taught not only the religious knowledge but all other kinds of sciences available in those days.

Anyway, I do not think that all the scientific knowledge and research etc. should be considered as secular. This is just something that was assumed by the West, mostly in the 20th centuries. Most of the Western Luminaries of yester years were practicing Christians.

And what does Quran says about Science:

Have you [Prophet] not considered how God sends water down from the sky and that We produce with it fruits of varied colours; that there are in the mountains layers of white and red of various hues, and jet black; (35:27) that there are various colours among human beings, wild animals, and livestock too? It is those of His servants who have knowledge who stand in true awe of God. God is almighty, most forgiving. (35:28)

Above verse clearly shows us that Allah (SWT) commands us to learn all the Natural Sciences. So, there is no conflict between Science and Religion, other than those created by the Mullahs. Here is another verse I would like to quote, just a day ago there was some talk about having two separate Eids in Pakistan based upon sightings and arrogance of the Mullahs from various parts of the country. Again, Quran shows us what to do:

It is He who made the sun a shining radiance and the moon a light, determining phases for it so that you might know the number of years and how to calculate time. God did not create all these without a true purpose; He explains His signs to those who understand. (10:5)

Lets come to the present day and age, we have a nation among the Muslims where they had an Islamic Revolution, they have changed their economic model which is now based upon Quran and is successful, they have united most of the Shias in the Middle East. At the time of revolution, literacy rate was 22%, now it is >80%, they are among the top 25 nations in R&D and regardless of so many sanctions against them they are well composed and stand tall among the community to nations. I don't think, I need to tell you their name, you would have guessed that by now!
