The last borderline conflict between China and Vietnam ended in 1988, and peace is received when Vietnam give up the claims of several mountains between China and Vietnam.

Actually China was only suffered relatively large number of causaulties in 1979, for obvious reason considering cultural revoluation barely ended at that time.

For the rest borderline war fought in 1980-1988, the casualties between the two are pretty one-sided, 10-1 or so.
