What's new

The crow is white, Bengal is Pakistan

It is not about that, this is media we are talking about. Take any media class and the first thing they will tell you is that the goal of all media is not to report facts but to sell. Nothing sells more than controversy.

I have a degree in communication studies from Michigan and i can guarantee you that no such rule exists..
I'm not sure where you got this from, but is factually incorrect!

I'm happy for young pakistanis who can't put this aside and just be friends with bengalis, I have many pakistani friends, and it's great to see that they just don't give a sh*t about what happened, only thing they care is what is occuring right now...

And why should they?
Children cannot be held responsible for the mistakes their ancestors make....Let bygones be bygones and thats the only way to achieve peace in today's world...

I never said it was a rule but in today's media it is fact. If you want to argue I will just tell you to watch any major news outlet in the states and you will see each side only reports on things that they know will drive up their ratings. Or look at Indian media sensationalism just for the sake of viewers even online in websites like Times of India.

I was just trying to show him that Pakistan really don't give a f*** that Bangladesh was Pakistan once.

Bangladeshis themselves do not give a **** that Bangladesh was Pakistan once, giving a **** about such a thing will only create more problem. They are Bangladeshis now and we accept that, wish the best for them in Bangladesh.

Strange comment...

Partition with India happened 60+ years ago and Pakistan is still wrestling with the lessons from that...so an event (a second partition, quite massive if you ask me) some 40 years ago has no bearing on Pakistanis??!!!

Also, most countries learn from their past mistakes (read Japan and Germany post WW2)...BD was a Pakistani blunder of epic proportions from a governance standpoint...and for all you know, Baluchistan or NWFP could be the next BD in the making...Shouldn't you be looking at not repeating the same mistakes that you made in the past?
How is the separation of BD not relevant?

Simple fact is that BD became independant due to Soviet Union and India. There is no other way it could've happened. We have not only learned from our mistakes but also successfully sought retrebution from the first enemy by smashing it into 15 pieces in Afghanistan through a proxy war, while co conspirator continues to be smashed.

Its time to move on as half of our revenge has been settled.

Well I went in that direction because of the below quote...colleges will never ever solicit such "rules" through education as it is highly immoral.

Take any media class and the first thing they will tell you is that the goal of all media is not to report facts but to sell.

But I see what you're saying about sensationalism in media...you only see the news that sells. Its more about generating traffic than reporting facts..Yellow journalism at its worst..a lot of it...NOT all of it.
Just wanted to correct your statement about you having learned this in "media class" thats all...

Well that is what I learned in a media class. My professor was pretty straight forward that earning money is the main focus of most media groups today, much of the class and I agreed with his assessment. Anyway he did not say it was a rule he said it was just how media has developed over time, the class was an elective on the history and media and how it has evolved. I am not a communication major I just took it because it was given to me as an incoming freshman a few years ago.

Well if you think that Indian and Russian involvement in '71 was anything more than providing a match for the fire, it seems Pakistan hasn't learned anything...(going purely off your statement)
Are we to seriously believe that Pakistani administration and its policies towards the Bengalis had nothing to do with what transpired after? Last time, India took advantage at the opportune moment..What would you call whats happening in your western provinces now? What have you learned if as you claim, India is still supporting forces against the Pakistani state?

A more "practical" media studies class I guess...LOL!

I'm sorry to say and mean this with the greatest respect, I have never seen anyone talk of Bangladesh in Pakistan. The great reason for this is because it is perceived as a land that is far away, and simply therefore doesn't figure in our regional affairs, unlike Afghanistan, Iran and India.

Most young folk have no clue and take no interest. The elders remember, but have moved on a while back.

I have no idea why Indians are surprised that we do not have obsession with Bangladesh like Indians do with Pakistan. Pakistanis and Bangladeshis are muslim brothers basically, there is no comparision.

Apparently, we're supposed to grieve over the loss of Bangladesh every day and shake our fist in the air, cursing Indians for being an incredible rising shining supa pawa, while coining up conspiracy theories to pretend it wasn't our fault.

I'm not surprised at how deluded these toiletless fanatics are.

This post basically sums up what PDF is to Pakistanis...

Thumbs up for the most accurate description of what goes on/has been going on here at this forum....Couldn't have said it better!

It obviously pisses bharatis off that one of their "great achievements" isn't taken seriously.

What you see here is a self-serving prophecy.

If Pakistanis don't care about separation from Bangladesh then there's something wrong with them.
If Pakistanis care about separation from Bangladesh then that means Pakistanis been unable to get over the separation with the Bangladesh and "need to accept Bangladesh".

By definition, this is a self-fulfilling prophecy. This is a self-defense mechanism because they've been unable to make Pakistanis feel bad about separation from Bangladesh, and that in modern day most Pakistanis couldn't care less.

Everyone has moved on, nobody cares anymore. I asked my parents what they though of Pakistan, they said nothing lol.
Most Bengalis feel the above
