What's new

The crow is white, Bengal is Pakistan

Private education doesn't consider Bangladesh's separation as anything major to cover. There are much more important historic events that are covered.

This is the problem. Your country was bifurcated. more than 50% of your population went away. But that is not important event for you!!!!. How you understand what went wrong there and what not to do in future to prevent repetition of such events? Or you will consider it same way if Baluchistan will separate?

on a lighter note, if you forget the history for Kashmir in the same way then it would be great for the subcontinent and your country too :)

Now that did not sit well at all with the infant country's larger, grander designs of spearheading a new Islamic renaissance and hoisting its flag on every other building in South Asia.

The dark-skinned Bengalis, who shared their language and culture with their Hindu compatriots did not cut a figure to fit the coveted slot.

Nice share.

This part highlights the Islamist and the fascist nature of pakistan's ruling elite and it's establishments. Also highlights their quest by the wars they attempted and the terrorists they breed. The victory by thousand cuts or the gazwa e hind that most pakistani's dream about.

Looks like most gullible pakistani's are being taken for a ride and primed up to be shahids at the alter of it's elite's grand design.

I will quote you next time i need to prove something written about India by Indian. Will you put your stamp of approval on it?
If an Indian on that thread says that only Pakistanis are interested in the topic, then you are free to point out that it was written by an Indian. That does not make it a stamp of approval, but a reminder that the assertion is wrong.

Same here - I am pointing out that it was written by a Pakistani for Pakistanis in a Pakistani newspaper, which belies your assertion that only Indians are interested.

no one gives a rats a** about bangladesh here
most people dont know where its on the globe

.
Well bangladesh should had been formed a new country from the beginning.

The only sad part i am about the 1971 war is our surrender and loosing the war.

.
there r no 14 years in o levels. yes it is there but is taught in very last months before cie exams in O-1 or O-2, and there isn't much on the topic in that syllabus, its only mentioned that East Pak separated, not what happened or the reasons which led to the separation. That is actually hilarious. Few months back i reopened that book again and wanted to kill myself for inaccuracies in that crap they taught us.

It's not too vague, but I understand your pains. The problem is that teachers are too focused on getting kids a good grade and memorizing paper answers rather than teaching history.

Shouldn't we? 40 years ago, it was part of Pakistan.

Well bangladesh should had been formed a new country from the beginning.

The only sad part i am about the 1971 war is our surrender and loosing the war.

That's the saddest part? The saddest part to me is thousands of lives ruined and lost.

The premise of the article is wrong - the author has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. I lived in Pakistan for decade and a half, no one gave a sh*t about Bangladesh, much less care about that they were once a part of Pakistan. I see the same sentiment even today, so the author will have to show some empirical statistics for the premise to be taken seriously.
@idune @BDforever

. . .
I wasn't talking about BD, I was talking about your school curriculum....

It does not matter who wrote it, If any Pakistan would agree with him he would have posted it here and since an Indian posted it here then Indians should be willing to hear any arguments which may and may not involve their country. Just saying a Pakistan wrote it does not put an stamp of approval

Repeat - it was not meant as a stamp of approval.

I think we have to see who created more threads related to Bangladesh . Is it Pakistani,Indians or Bangladeshis.

Indians and bangladeshis beats Pakistan.....

So its not Pakistanis who are obsessed. Infact i dont even care what Indians do to BD or Bangladeshis do to themselves

.
couldn't have said it better myself... i didn't even know bangladesh was a part of pakistan till i was like 14

Exactly same situation. You should have seen my face when i read for the first time in my history book about it. "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT? there used to be an east pakistan?!!"

. .
It's written by a Pakistani in a Pakistani newspaper. And BTW, it has nothing to do with "accepting" or not accepting. Read the article before commenting, if you are capable of that.

That's a pity, you ought to have been more informed.

That is simply due to a deficient Education System.
