The Crisis in Europe: 3 million migrant arrivals expected in Europe by 2017: EU

You're not up to date with the events in this part of the world. Turkey isn't fighting the Daesh. Never has. It's more like "the enemy of my enemy (Kurds, Assad) is my friend (or to be ignored for now)". The Daesh are also pretty much ignoring Turkey.

The only way to have Turkey fight the Daesh if to provide concessions in Syria for Turkey, concessions that aren't feasible as they would further destabilize the region (as neither Iran nor SA will be happy about it) and antagonize Russia.

If not active combat, the Turks are hosting over 3 million of them in refugee camps. In fact I wrote about an article on this months ago. Perhaps you can avail it , please read it. I wrote it over a year ago.

@Declein ,

Please read my research and featured thread. Regards:

The Socioeconomic Repercussions of Terrorism in Refugee Populations: Turkey and Jordan as Case Study

.
My view: Close the borders, and eject them all. This is a demographic crisis and threat to European Civilization.
Europe should accept refugees. If the Arab and Gulf countries shirk their responsibility and refuse refugees, then so be it. Somebody should take them for the sake of humanity. Letting people die like that is not consistent with European values. The present episode will teach Europe to practice what they preach. And hopefully it also makes the Euro-American haters in the middle east wonder why they hate so much.

.
Europe should learn from Pakistan. One of the world's most populated and poor country still hosting 3 million Afghan refugees.

.
My friend, clearly there needs to be more military and economic support for Turkey. There has to be a greater NATO participation in this paradigm. I would say that this crisis is all due to European habituation of reliance on others instead of proactively soling the issue. One cannot be just reactive.
People think fighting a asymetrical warfare is like playing Call of Duty as long as you have the weapons, sharing the border to the conflict zone is a whole another scenario than deploying a dozen jets from thousand of miles away, and yet Turkey has done Airstrikes in Syria, its arresting isis members, you hear almost every week about another operation agains isis cells, but yeah Turkey is just sitting idly bla bla, people should just shut up about matters they have no clue about.

Also one thing to mention here, Turkish intelligence warned French counterparts about one of the terrorists that attacked Paris this WE in 2014 but they havent responded.

@Declein nothing personal agains you, speaking generally.

.
Why not?

I also support closing the borders or atleast controlling and selecting the right refugees to come to europe.
Pros for closing the borders and it will work:
1. Less Refugees will start planing and actually start moving to europe.
There is one biiig con which you are ignoring. And that is PEOPLE ARE DYING!!
2. If Europe is closed, they will try to go to turkey, egypt, emirate.
If these countries had decent livable refugee camps, then Europe wouldn't be receiving so many people.
but dont think this is fair, because everyone who fled from their homeland from life danger should get a chance:
1. Only selected refugees, true refugees. Excludes for example: Afghani, Iraqi, Balkan people and those who was in a safe country before they enter europe like turkey.
2. Also exclude trouble makers like extremist and who doesnt accept or dislike european values (tolerate other religion and people of the religion).
3. Exclude and send back those who does crime, any crime!
4. No unnecessary complaints, and no compromises. If they dont like to live in ireland, rumania, or in a small village or even in the forest, their second and last option is go back home.
These seem like fair suggestions. Ones which are already being followed. Except 1 which is not feasible because in many cases, it is impossible to verify the refugee status, say if someone burns their passport before entering EU.

I don't want to reveal too much information in an open public forum like PDF, but I have collaborated in peer reviewed published demographic articles relating to Syria, Turkey and Jordan. Some of my peers are actually from Turkey and one who is from Cyprus. Anyways, there can be no denial of Turkey's excruciating burden of hosting nearly 3 million refugees on her border, and this number continues to swell in droves per day. This is a humanitarian catastrophe as I have stated in my publications.

UN, WHO, and even the NIH, CDC have remained almost ambivalent. Remember that this crisis is not just a demographic and social issue; but also a health and medical criterion for interest in the epidemiological strata of academia. The volume of refugees coming to Europe and North America are bringing with them diseases , many of them are unvaccinated, untreated, and the threat of aerosol transmission, and God forbid, germ warfare is relatively high.

As you have said, my friend, the assymetrical nature of this issue is all too real.

Wishing the destruction on the West due to past grievances is unpractical my friend. Social realities have to be considered. And geopolitical constructionist points should be understood.

Correct. We have to understand and disseminate on social media of Turkey's indispensable role in housing 3 + million refugees. I think this is generally miscommunicated in the net, unfortunately.

Brother, I do not wish the destruction of anyone, least of all the West. All I wish is they stand as model for the world and show how people should be treated. There are in the best position to do so.

If they let people to die in the Mediterranean, every tinpot dictator and scoundrel leader in the third world will show it as an excuse to avoid refugees and gleefully watch people die. They would say: Look even the West thought human lives are disposable.

Bro, why are you so anti immigratiion all of a sudden? You used to be so liberal with immigration. OR you are liberal only when it comes certain countries ? o_O

I have always been for stringent policies in regards to immigrants. I have never been for refugee en masse. Never.

This is understandable, and I think this is truly a delicate balance of being humanitarian towards foreigner interests, and also the mandate of any government to safeguard the people whom they represent. In the end the Leaders of Europe have to outweigh who is more important: The security of over 500 million European citizens or to accommodate 2+ million refugees from the Middle East/ Africa.

This is not an easy issue. In fact is very hard, and the leaders of the EU have to make this call.

I appreciate Turkey's response. They took in 1.5 mil people.
But does Turkey have camps to accommodate 3 million Syrian refugees? Then why not confine them there? Why let them cross your country and into the West?

And thanks for the picture.

It is more than 1.5 million now, my friend. It was 1.5 million back in 2014 and early 2015. It is close to 3 million Now.

Also do not forget the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. For such a small country, they are hosting close to half a million refugees.
