They supposed to be in Urdu but they are not 100% in Urdu, slowly certain language is injected in Urdu channels, for example, comedy shows and news programs.

As i said, state channels are in urdu. Pakistanis have generally adopted urdu as official language and no one have any problem with it as a common language to speak. Private TV channels can broadcast in whichever language they want for their target audience. So as i said, whether someone likes it or not, it is gonna stay as it is. Also don't forget Pakistanis are 44.7% punjabis, 8.4% Saraiki (sub group of Punjabis), 15.4% Pushtuns, 14.1 % Sindhis, 7.6% Muhajirs, 3.6% Balochis.

The reference you are giving is about punjabi (comedy shows etc.). Generally in term of cultures, whichever culture is lit in whichever way will dominate, that's how it is, punjab have the best humor in Pakistan, arguably one of the best in world. So you see it everywhere in showbiz, it has earned it's place.

You should move to Indian Punjab they speak pure Punjabi language.
You are wrong the punjabi spoken in Indian punjab is not pure or real Punjabi
Indian Punjabi films and songs are a mix of Urdu and Punjabi real Punjabi is spoken in Pakistan it's a diverse language with lots of dialects
Map of Punjabi dialects

Then you have these fucked up PTM types who think speaking punjabi is elite privilege.
He is right anchors shouldn't speak Punjabi in talk shows and stupid stage drama comedians also shouldn't be invited in shows like khabarnak

You are right. This is a sentiment of Pakistani Pashtun soldiers not just a common Pashtun man. They said Punjabi will speak their language (Punjabi) in front of us but when we speak Pashto they don’t like it and look at us as we are not Pakistani. Pashtun soldiers say they feel prejudice (tasub) from Punjabis. Many problems came because of prejudice against others and insensitivity to other cultures.
Karachi had a similar issues in 80s when majority of the police was Punjabi or from interior Sindh and not familiar with dynamics of Karachi or local culture. I think Police should be from local community and not brought from other areas. In 80s Mohajir jobs were taken over by Punjabis and Sindhis, for example, customs, railway, PiA, Karachi airport, etc.
They were systematically removed from their jobs and Punjabi and Sindhis were hired.

No one should have any problem with a police officer speaking in Sindhi or in any other language with his coworkers
I was saying because these channels represent Pakistan therefore they shouldn't use regional languages in talk shows and other Urdu programs
They should do programs in all regional languages of Pakistan and should read headlines in regional languages but urdu programs should be in urdu

Who are these pushtoon soldiers telling you that, please backup your claim with facts or don't create ethnic/linguistic rift between Pakistanis. @Dubious

So you want me to post their names in the group to create problems for them. These people are patriotic Pakistani but they express themselves and talk about things which they noticed or observed. This is not a sentiment of one soldier, many of them feel this way. Why Pashtun don’t get promoted to higher rank in the army?
During Musharraf time many Pashtuns soldiers were hanged and court martial because of their associated with religious party or attend religious gatherings.
Some Pashtun soldiers remember those incidents and usually talk about it. Hopefully IK and Bajwa can address the grievances of Pashtun and other ethnicities in Pakistan.

I do agree with you that all National TV channels (public or private) should be in URDU, so the National Language can be promoted throughout Pakistan. Also, we need to have tv channels in regional languages to promote the language and culture of the region, for example, Balochi/Brohi, Sindhi, Seriaki, Hindko, Punjabi, Pashto, etc.

I did not say anything about police speaking Sindhi, not sure from where you deduced that from my post.

Nothing is hidden, just talk to people and you will know. Not sure what world you are living in....even Pashtun soldiers agree with some points of PTM, about the road blocks and checkpoints, and many of these grievances were resolved after army removed unnecessary road blocks & checkpoints.
having disagreements is not a big deal, big deal is how you resolve those disagreements and differences.

British Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid caught everyone by surprise by addressing his mother in Punjabi during a speech at the annual conference of the ruling Conservative Party in Manchester.

“Mummy, did you ever think we’d be here today?” he asked her in Punjabi on Monday.

Javid, son of Pakistani immigrants, welcomed his mother as he started his key note speech. “You know, 20 years ago, Mum thought it was a big deal when she watched the first Asians move into Coronation Street here in Manchester,” said the chancellor

I am surprised that @Dubious and other mods who preach unity in Pakistan and bla bla haven't done jack shit when it comes to people taking jab against Punjabis, reported the above quoted messages twice. The underlining meaning is pretty much obvious in those replies (hate against punjabis). Have some shame and come out of your double standards and be Pakistanis first.

Punjabis are proud and strong, it's been years that they have been blamed and provoked for the ills of some other provinces. People shall be asking questions to their leaders and the choices they made in past rather than scapegoating Punjabis for their own mess. It won't be forever that Punjabis will keep taking shit from others. So people shall be careful when putting blame on single ethnicity. Won't go in detail about who did what and doing what with Punjabis in other provinces. Pakistan and our brothers from other provinces zindabad. And these efforts of some to create rift among brothers in sha Allah won't work. @mods please get your act together.

Never generalise based on a few.

If you have issues with some state those some or the incident but never generalise about ethnic groups as a whole

You are not allowed to bad mouth any ethnic group based on hearsay

We are not a no monotonous culture nor a homologous people.

We came together under one banner doesn't mean we forget our roots.

They supposed to be in Urdu but they are not 100% in Urdu, slowly certain language is injected in Urdu channels, for example, comedy shows and news programs.

Please keep your bakwas to yourself.

You have detailed the whole threads to bash Punjabi with your absolute nonsense and hearsay
