Defense Minister Fikri Işık declared that they were trying to produce engines, the most critical parts of the aircraft at Turkish National Engineers at the National Combat Aircraft Project (TF-X).

Defense Minister Işık attended at the Undersecretary of Defense Industry. Işık, who met with the Undersecretariat employees, said that the Undersecretariat of Defense Industry came to the top of the most project-producing institutions in Turkey with a project stock of 35 billion dollars.

Striking and intensive studies, Işık pointed out that Turkey has become a very important point in the defense industry. He pointed out that defense industry will focus more on critical technologies.

Işık, "We will do our national combat aircraft, we will continue to be the chief engineer to be indigenous, we know it is not easy, but we know that there is nothing we can't do with teamwork."

I think UK won't go for TFX.

The current price tag of Russia offer T50's TOT to India is 7 billions USD, I think the price Turkey have to pay for a complete indegenized stealthy fighter will be no less than 10 billions.

Not will, they have already signed! UK participates the design phase of TF-X with 400 engineer/year and It will take 4 years for phase-1. TF-X have a budget of around 35 billion $
Engine issue is planned to be met national production model to be developed under a cooperation with RR.

The TAEC (Turkish Air Engine Company) (RR/Kale) engine is going to compete with engine's offered from Eurojet and maybe GE as well. Eurojet plans on full ToT including full rights for the engine. The head of Eurojet said this in an interview in IDEF '17 magazine, which was posted in this thread somewhere.

In other words, TAEC isn't guaranteed that it will land the engine project for the TF-X.
