Tension escalate as IRGC shoots down US Spy Drone

What do you think , its some kind of miscommunication or protocol issue. Because P8 and drone were flying next to each other. According to Iran govt they sent multiple warning to drone. P8 change its path , but drone had no response and kept on coming closer to Iran coastal area.
Right now, I would not take seriously anything Iran says about this event.

For starter, IF there was a P-8, which is primarily a maritime anti-sub platform, it would not be flying next to any UAV.

Gambit,

The thread is reopened now, so we can continue here.

It seems you're either confused or pretending to be. What reason would a UAV have for turning it's transponder off if it's not to become more "stealth"? Did he mention anything regarding stealth in the context of RCS? Seriously dude, it seems even a diplomat is more clued up than you.

Iran's national mapping agency also confirmed that crash location is 8 miles away from Iranian coasts so it's absolutely within Iran territory.

Pentagon release images U.S P8 aircraft of Iran shot down RQ-4A Global Hawk drone UAV

General Hajizadeh: we could have shot down American P-8 with 35 personnel on board, but decided to not to, after the plane responded to warnings.

U.S MQ-4 was being controlled from this P-8.

No it failed because you couldn't hack it. So you resort to shooting it down. That tells you something.
Thats tells us nothing valuable or relevant. It seems you're focusing on the "Iran cant hack this drone" narrative to compensate for the fact that Iran shot the drone down? Hold you L bra.

US should bomb the crap out of this sectarian state. That would be the first time in my life cheering for these terrorist Americans.
You're too late and too sloppy.

Big explosion at a USA oil refinery today. I suspect the fix on this war is in. Iran has been attacking oil related targets to get prices up. This explosion will be blamed on Iranian sabotage.

Just like the anthrax mail attacks were the final push to get the USA to attack Iraq... even though the FBI later said it was an American source for those. This refinery incident will be used to attack Iran. My guess.

Not good for anyone.

Tehran played it well :yahoo:
Trump pulled back from retaliation. :pop:

What you call Iran playing it well is basically about Iran telling US its ready for "sacrifices" and US saying "ummm...im not".

Like said before, the days of the oppressed having no means of fighting back are g one. im so proud of Gaza already not succumbing to Israel this year. if you dont understand what that means, keep watching ,because you're in for a surprising show..

THis is classic fallacy of "Argument from authority". You have no logical point on this thread tbh. you're just a sophisticated troll. onto more sensible comments and logic..

one HUGE problem with the US story that's not getting discussed is the transponder being off.

even if its international waters. its so close to Iranian borders that flying a transponder off aircraft in that vicinity is endangering civilian Iranian air traffic.

would the US like it if a foreign spy plane turned off its transponder, and started hovering around civilian air space and potentially endangering civilian aircraft?

the US doesn't necessarily have the best record when it comes to savagely murdering civilians on airliners. Iran has every right to shoot down any American aircraft violating international aviation laws by endangering Iranian airspace in such a reckless manner.
they want to play victim that's it. while in reality the drone that they call it "information vacuum cleaner" was there to uncover our shore side TELs.

Ravanchi's interview with NPR
comes the same day President Trump blamed "someone loose and stupid" in Iran for shooting down a naval surveillance drone with a 131-foot wingspan in the Strait of Hormuz, the latest flashpoint in a growing rift between the two countries.

After news of the downed unmanned aircraft, Trump called for an emergency meeting with congressional leaders. U.S. Central Command said the event was an "unprovoked attack" over international waters.

But Ravanchi described Iran's version of events.

The RQ-4 Global Hawk, which he described as a "spy drone," was flying above the Persian Gulf close to the border with Iran.

"And then we noticed that that drone is getting close to our airspace," Ravanchi said.

He said unsuccessful attempts were made by radio to communicate with the drone to warn it away from Iranian airspace.

"And all of a sudden, we noticed that it was entering our airspace," he said. "At that time since it was a spy drone, [we] were left with no other option," he said. "Just to shoot it down," he said.

Iran was acting in accordance with Article 51 of the U.N. Charter, a provision allowing military action in situations involving self-defense, he said.

"This was an act of provocation on [the] part of United States, and we asked the international community to demand from United States to stop these sort of actions, which is somehow endangering international peace and security."

Iran and U.S. have provided competing locations for where exactly the drone was targeted, Iran's coordinates placing it over the country's waters and the coordinates provided by Pentagon officials showing it fell in international airspace.

Since the drone was shot down, Iranian officials have recovered portions of the aircraft that "naturally fell down within territorial waters of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Ravanchi said.

"So that shows, by itself, that the drone was shot down within the Iranian airspace," he said.

If that is true, then whoever 'he' is -- is still an ignoramus.

The absence of a transponder signal does not equal to having anything relating to being low radar observable.

We are seeing 'Iranian physics' all over again...
سکوت رادیویی=radio silence. this is a bad translation i assume.

On Monday? the guy even doesn't know when his drone was shot down ...and then 3 different sights?

What is that? can you translate?
