So who took the wreckage?
Hmmm, that's the most important bit, of information. I wonder how much they would sell it for.Iran said it took some of them.
Patience and wisdom are not weakness..otherwise China is also weak for not responding to US moves in South China sea?
Considering @gambit I'd an actual professional, and you're the actual arm chair general here, your entire comment reeks of hypocrisy.
The truth is, in the even that Iran and the US go to war, the US is most likely going to use 4th Gen fighters, such as it's f-15, f16, and f-18 fleets. The f-22 and f-35 will likely only see a limited use, and only to achieve air superiority in high risk areas (with the f-22), as well as striking ground targets in high risk areas (with the f-35).
Considering Iran's aging air fleet, and limited air defence systems, it's doubtful that Iran would be able to deal with the US Air assets. The only way Iran can possibly contend with a US air war is if it destroys nearby US Air bases (which is unlikely), and also severely damage US aircraft carriers (which Iran can achieve with difficulty, but would also be unlikely).
People underestimate Iran, but they also have a tendency if underetimating the US as well. There is a very good reason why the US military might remains unchallenged since the end of the cold war, namely massive economy and massive military spending, as well as massive amounts of military esperience.
Well, that only lives war with Iran as an option.. but far from being a wise move for anyone in the region..Now Iran is provoking the US directly, so let them fight it over..Patience comes after you reinforce yourself in region. Iran is in Syria, in Iraq changing future of the nations. In Yemen now assisting Houthis heavily. Arabs need to retake Syria and Yemen back to its rightful owners , then you have patience. Right now requires sacrifice. There is nothing scary for good Muslims about retaking Syria and Yemen. Russia will have to deal with the new power. But, our regimes are scared and/or okay with what is happening. Just supporting HTS in Syria reliably like Iran support to Houthis or Hezbollah will make a big difference. And supporting Hamas in Gaza can push it away from Iran and make Iran lose Palestine card completely. But, we have cowards for rulers right now. I'm confident they will be replaced with a great leader soon.
The more you guys wait for US to do something the worse it gets. We can fend Iran off and also deter Israel and put in a much worse situation than it is today.

The Arabs that you seem biased or ignorant about have contained much of Iran's attempts at expansion..it is limited to Iraq with a Shia majority, Yemen with Shia Houthis going through a civil war with the rest of Yemenis, Syria with a civil war and Lebanon who is doing everything to avoid a civil war as much as Iraq..That's it.. all other attempts of expansion in Africa, the GCC and even Asia were thwarted..So you call me Armchair General, but then proceed to give your skewed armchair general analysis of what war with Iran would be.
What a joke. Sir I have seen you on here for a long time and you clearly are biased and potentially borderline incompetent.
US spent trillions of dollars to wage war against puppet nations (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen) and to what result? Iraq is dominated by Iran. US is negotiating with Taliban on withdrawal from Afghanistan. All the time spent killing AQ in Yemen has seen it fall to Pro-Iran rebels and seen AQ rise in areas under US ally protection. Clearly the US Middle East policy was a complete utter disaster.
US hasn’t fought a real war since it fought some rice patty Vietcong in Vietnam and even their they gave up against a stiff resistance and left.
So the US might spend an astronomical amount of money on its armed forces, but it cannot confront real enemies/real armies because neither it’s population, it’s politicians, nor it’s pocketbook can afford a large war.
Iran expanded across the Middle East and US has been unable to build a successful policy of containment. Sooner or later these Arab puppets will fall and Iran will continue to expand. Sudan and Jordan look like potential next moves. This is all done with draconian sanctions, a tiny economy, and according to you a military that is a joke.
So it seems Iran is doing things according to a plan, where as US is nothing but another Empire going on fruitless expensive wars while slowly eroding it’s own power in the world.
Let’s agree to disagree and leave it at that.
Syria is a quagmire that is better to avoid..Russia, Turkey, Iran, the US, NATO..everyone seems involved! How many times do you want them to support the divided opposition?Assuming any war takes place, then Arabs need to take advantage of it and support rebels in Syria if opportunity arises. I do not expect they will and will only have defensive mindset which is not gonna help in longterm.

AJ Arabic Breaking quoting NYT: Military officials warn that military response will have negative repercussions for US forces in the region
missed the points that the proxy of USA are also countries like Israel, KSA , UAE besides other militants like SDF etc. You're diluted it is not against norms to have proxies, USA, Saudi Arabia and Israel have done the same in Syria with their support for the various forces they patronized in the last 5 ot 6 years. Not to mention, they've fomenting unrest in Ukraine which led to Russia's invasion of the Crimea. You need to get to the root of the causes of problems and not repeat Pakistani rumors.

Isn't Turkey already supporting them?Opposition in Syria is divided, HTS on other hand is much better to support.
