Tempest | the UK's Next Generation Fighter | Updates & Discussions

nice video on some thoughts from Binkov.

Scary. Everyone and their mothers trying to get in on the stealth fighter phenomenon. Add to that all the inter-cooperations required to maintain the strength of the combined west vs the outcast member states isolates them and pushes them even further away, forcing them to create their own partnerships to make an effort to protect themselves. It's out of control.

And the money involved in these projects is incomprehensible to us regular mutts. Projecting the cost of the GCAP now involving the Japanese, Italians and of course the UK shows how really difficult and costly such programs are that there's a strong possibility of canning the Tempest. Foreseeing the possible cost of platform the platform at around $200+ million a piece tells the whole story. Hard to believe having to replace the F-15s and EFTs at this stage of the game. Engines, airframes, AI, avionics, weapons, counter-weapons etc. just a mumbalumgum of a mess. Just like anything else, you need money to make money.

Meanwhile, maybe China did the right thing on its own and is sitting pretty.

Both the UK and Japan need the Tempest for their own industria reasons. The Tempest will train the next generation of engineers that will underpin UK aerospace industry. The cost is no different to any other programme cost and I personally think that the FCAS is more likely to be cancelled than the GCAP as Germany is not the best industrial partner.

Given that we are only 4 years away from - i think the hard part of the airframe is now done and we are left with the engineering of the engines, and of course the system of systems.

Both the UK and Japan will rely on the USA for the armed wingman/drones etc - so there will be alot of collaboration with the USA on some items, but the core platform will be owned by the UK and Japan/Italy.

UK needs to worry more about immigration from Africa, the crime culture it brings, and the decrease in indigenous whites. In a decade or two, they may not even have enough engineers anymore to design aircraft, but even more machete-waving criminals roaming the streets than they have now.

America needs to worry more about the mexican drug cartels and mexican immigration - and the decrease in occupier whites. In a decade or two, they may not even have enough engineers anymore to design aircraft, but even more machine gun-waving criminals roaming the streets than they have now.

You are right. We are worried. That's why you see more talk of immigration even in the Democrat party. It's become too big to ignore. Luckily, we have a larger white population than UK, especially in the Bible Belt area.

^^ Looks really good from that top view. Looking forward to learning all the latest technical details that'll be going into that thing.

The majority of these new designs are foregoing the need for horizontal stabilizers and we probably won't be seeing any more canards, either.

The use of loyal wingmen, advanced surface composites, lasers, AI and manned & unmanned versions seem to be the leading aspects of these next generation platforms.

if it looks right - it will fly right and tempest looks right. UK has designed some very pretty planes in the past - happy that we back to doing it again now.
