Tejas grounded after snag in landing gear

I am sick of this "Tejas drama". Get rid of it. Let the little bird give 1/2 more years and then comment. Why we are so obsessed with this aircraft?

It's a feel good thing for some members. They think of it as a failure. They're not there when SLBM launches successfully, or GSLV launches, or cryogenic engine works perfectly, or news of SSBN trialing, Vikrant IAC launching, or many other things.

They seem to not realize the reason for so many Tejas related news in the media right now(all of a sudden)... Because it's in production, gaining FOC, and the base platform is done. And also news of it getting extended orders by this government, irks some outside players.

Whats the glitch bdw? If they could not retract L/G and had to fly with them extended then it means that some micro switch esp one of the the wheels on ground switches has gone U/S that forbid the L/G to retract or may be the L/G handle has gone U/S. Having said so if thats not the case then it means an inherent design flaw has come up right now which was dormant till this time.
I think its more related to the landing gear bay/door, which is opening too fast. Read somewhere, they have identify such problem when the video of the camera near the landing gear reveals that. For the cautionary drill they can grounded all tejas to not to be airborne till such bugs could be removed and tested.

Is Teja Landing gear incorporate new tech ? or is it some Manufacturinf fault ?

Each and every actuator/door involved in L/G extension and retraction has a pre calculated time limit which is followed during each cycle of retraction and extension. This cycle is set during design and testing and if some aircraft experiences issue with retraction/extension timings when in service then its just a localized issue with that very single aircraft and thats it.Some solenoid/actuator/rod/sequencer etc needs replacement in that very aircraft. This should not lead to grounding of whole fleet. If this isnt that very snag then it simply means some design flaw has awaken from hibernation.

Thanks for the info, but its all speculated, no body knows what is the problem. Do you have any idea of difference of Twin tyre in the forward landing gear and single tyre. I had seen one pic of tejas with just one tyre and now all with twin tyre set.

Blind bhakts will start their song and dance drama how Tejas is the future of combat jets and other such random cr@p.

Don't you dare to speak anything against the bolder part.

Twin are meant to be a stronger landing gear which may be used in Carrier Fleet because of hard landings and catapult takeoffs.

I know it very well but check tejas mk1 land version it have twin set of tyre.

Twin sets are usually heavy and I think they may have inducted these just for the sake of commonality and saving time so it's another way to save $$$s or their is another theory that the single wheeled may be fragile and were unable to hold the required amount of pressure but I don't know which one is right mere a speculation.

aree bhai machine hy probleme hote rehte hyn... cheer up for LCA because more Teja more IAF behja behja ( i.e less Rafales)
