Boy this time it's different ,they are aiming for whole afghanistan . Every inch of afghanistan. They never captured the northern parts of afghanistan before but this time they did. So no place for pro India northern alliance this time.

Unlike Iraq Afghanistan is surrounded by powerful regional and global players. China,Russia , Pakistan and Iran and Uncle Sam knows the consequences. China,Russia and Pakistan are going to recognize Taliban government and using drones against such a government means inviting a strong response from Russia and china. Chinese are definitely going to invest in afghanistan and to protect their investment they will go to any extent.
If after staying in afghanistan and spending trillions of dollars this is the result then what difference would a distant drone coverage will make. Pakistan refused to give them any base and other than pakistan no other country will allow them a drone base.

well, Bush may be hated in some parts of the world, but he did make a really good statement about the fate of moderate Afghanis and their daughters being in severe danger if and when the Taliban would take over all of Afghanistan.

it's (in my opinion) a shame that Pakistan doesn't allow their airbases to be used by NATO drones to support the moderate-Afghani government.

quick question : will Pakistan commit to keeping the moderate Afghanis militarily supported? will China and/or Russia?

Moderate and liberal afghans simply don't exist . Even by our India pakistan standards their moderate ones are more conservative than our conservatives.
Afghan society is still largely tribal and primitive one. People fail to understand the afghan and pashtun society and cast their own stupid judgements.
Either there are patriotic afghans who fought against the invaders and their installed puppet governments or there are corrupt traitors who were in bed with the invaders for their personal benefits.
You cannot force your standards of modernity on them . Their culture,their mindset ,their country and their rules.

sir ji its not vietnam era US will supply few scrappy drones to ANA and keep using high tech drones on taliban . if something went wrong cia will ask ANA to take responsibilty of that drone attack . and you are not aware of economy of centeral asia so many countries are willing to allow overfly or having secret base of USA there . i think even pakistani generals ke moon main bhi paani a raha hai ho ga ke aik shamsi jesa chota sa base de ker mall kamaya jaay . The way ANA is surrendering and losing ground US is not stupid to supply them drones ,and later that drone tech fell into pakistani or Irani hands.
No way US can have a base in any central Asian state because all those asian states are still closely allied with Russia and Russia still has a huge influence on them . Just Taliban were close to Tajikistan border ,not a inch was penetrated and see how active Russian forces became in Tajikistan.
Well after suffering that much I think our generals and politicians ko aqal aa gayi hai. This time no base for US. And even when US had a base here ,still ultimately they faced defeat. They knew pakistan will play on both sides ,will give a base and will keep supporting Taliban. The end result will be no different.

Islamic System in its originality sure, but unfortunately that system which was brought by Prophet, and followed by the 4 caliphs has lost in time. Taliban version does include some stuff from the Islam but in other aspects they play the holier than thou, and become extreme versions of authoritarian dictators.

But Taliban is a Powerful fraction, they sure deserve a seat/representation in Afghan Political process.
