Taliban again Uproot Infrastructure at Pak Afghan Border

PA teams incharge of fencing ops work methodically and have surveyors + labors + rifle men + an OR/Officer( usually a Lt or capt) who map out the terrain given the GPS grids and do the fencing .

often at times, the 'durand line' ( actual border) is behind the Hill or some height and the officer in charge decides that if he fences the top of the hill ,it'll look good + the OP will have a nice view of the opposite side( for obvious reasons ,) .

to explain this for a layman ,= PA survey teams ' trespass' a couple of meters , sometime even 50 - 60 meters into afghan side and fence the border . ofcourse, the afghan border is barren stretch and there is no one present all the time to stop this . later on, some villager comes and sees this informs their local commander on afghan side and it turns into a fire fight / removal of fence

back in 2019 , when fencing was started, one such disagreement turned into a whole skirmish , the ANA shot one of our JCO in the hip and machine gunned a HINO truck + mortar shelled our survey team , Pakistan army brought a whole battery of medium guns and shelled them to oblivion , the matter had to be settled at COAS levels and both sides went back to friendly terms


simple point is this - such disagreements over border 'real estate' are common and are mostly resolved at local commander level

I was expecting some talibs defying pakistan, but i dint expect it to happen so soon and in such a brazen way, removing fencing and posting on social media. Pakistan needs to respond quickly. The fence is 40-60 metres INSIDE Pk.

Does the media ever show on domestic news channels the things Taliban do on the borders? I've seen on social media people generally realising that the Afghans don't like Pakistanis, but they need to be made aware that the Taliban don't either

We can't handle the whole of Afghanistan and there would be too many anti-state elements for it to be feasible, after a while it would turn into a civil war.

#1 is the only option as of now, but it could be done in a more smarter approach.

Any aid given to Afghanistan, whether that be monetary aid, food aid, or freeing up their foreign reserves should be on the grounds that they respect international borders, including the Durrand line. And if anyone is caught trespassing or damaging sovereign property we reserve the right to use lethal force against them.
