I feel Taiwan girls are more traditional, maybe you can call them more Chinese. Though I believe civilization needs changes continuously for further development.

Of course change and further development is very importance, but change into what? And what is the basic foundation for the further development?

Have you see mainland Chinese children ditch and disrespect their parent? Is this what we want for the future of Chinese?

I want to move forward too, but I also want to be forever being recognized as Chinese, as well as my decedent. I also want to keep the best our culture and tradition along with it. I want my decedent to learn Confucianism, Taoism. Proud of being Chinese and proud with our history as well. Even some part of Confucianism and Taoism, probably are not so suitable with the modern era, but I want, at least, we know about them deeply.

There's so many proudful things about Chinese culture and civilization. I want to keep it and pass it my decedent. Forever being remembered and practiced. Not end like what communist did, in the complete extinction!

In the past our ancestor, respect their ancestor and their senior. So do I. And I want our decedent do the same things as well. The purpose of education is to pass the good part of our culture and tradition to the next generation. As our ancestor already did their duty, and now is our duty.

It's so sad for me to see so many Chinese graduate students in the U.S. converted into Christianity. In our city, I was one of the only two mainlanders that go to our Buddhist temple. All others are from Taiwan. Then the other mainlander was visiting scholar and returned home in a year.

Can you believe our tiny city has Buddhist temple? Salute to our Taiwan compatriots.

Mainland China is really weird for me to recognize now. I don't even celebrate Christmas in the U.S. I just visit friends. But in urban China, they do! and they even talk about Easter and Thanksgiving, so bizarre! When I am chatting to groups in QQ, the greeted each other.
