I read the deal with China should be cancelled. Only rumor or true?

Rumors mate, rumors.

I wonder who are these well informed sources ??? Both Head of SMM, Defence Minister and Prime Minister says, chinese deal will go on. And those "well informed sources" say will not go on.

Those the very same "well informed sources" said that Turkey wouldn't select a Chinese system...Look where are we standing right now.

Those obstruction of US to hinder our improvement of the local defence industry, shows that we are on the right track.

. . .
Take this from me,the Turkish government doesnt give a fk about pressure.
Those days are over(History,Geschichte).

I dont think its over, maybe it doesnt work at a hothead like Erdogan.

. . . .
They (US) will not make the same mistake twice. They have other lever than embargos, more subtle. Key-word, free trade zone.

We didn't saw any pressure regarding the dispute with Israel over "Mavi Marmara Incident". US pressured Israel instead of Turkey.

We shall see the outcome few months later.

You cant compare both things. Last is more interessting for US than first issue.

As you said, we will see what happens.

DEFENSE UPDATE - Congress to Ankara: No China interoperability with US money

I quote:
'Turkey’s defense procurement bureaucracy remains divided regarding possible repercussions. “We are not surprised by this. But this is not a game changer during the process. We would expect our American allies to try and improve their own offers instead of trying to apply more pressure. At the end of the day, we may not need the U.S. or NATO and instead just use our own money to make the system interoperable,” one senior procurement official said.

But another official familiar with the program said that Congress’ move probably aimed to make the Chinese solution financially less attractive. “If we use Turkish money to make the system interoperable with NATO assets it will make the Chinese offer more expensive than it is. If the Chinese are prepared to share the extra burden it will make the contract less attractive for the Chinese,” the official said.' Unquote.

To me this seems that Turkish decision-makers already saw such hypocritical acts coming and they are prepared for it. I slowly start to believe that our politicians finally have some backbone towards the EU, US and Israel now. But yes, the US will try to pull out all tricks to divert our choice. Besides, so what if it costs extra money? at least we get tech transfer and the other extras, the other deals come with no tech transfer and all of those extras.
