Pardon, but what is TAI currently NOT planning to develop?
I know this question might sound a bit rude, but how will a company that so far is not really famous for independent aircraft design, development, building and bringing into service develop:
- the 6t & 10t helicopter
- anew combat helicopter
- the TFX
- several UAV/ACAVs
- the Hurkus in different versions
- the Light Attack/Training Aircraft HürJet
- .... I'm sure I missed a few more ??
IMO that all sound so unrealistic or highly unlikely ... not many other highly industrialised countries worldwide. several of them with far more experience can manage and especially finance that?

It is actually realistic since you don't know the background works. You suppose that All those projects suddenly appeared with a decision and Many of them serve for propaganda purposes but TAI projects are coming to daylight with following baby steps taking many years.
Helicopter industry:
Technology gained: AW-139 Fuselage production, UH-60 production, Korean KUH helicopter fuselage production
Co-development project: T-129 Atak
Domestic projects: 3t, 6t, 10t utility helicopter and Atak-2 programs with family integrity principles using modularity and compact components on all.
UAV/UCAV
-Turna-Keklik-Gözcü small scale drones for technological readiness
-Anka project is under development during 10 years. Army/Police/Gendarme ordered B and S variants.
-Thanks to similar component, avionics and domestic engine, Anka-2 concept is under development phase.
Hurkuş project
-TAI firstly produced Korean KT-1T trainer turboprop aircraft in own facilities, later The technology/experience gained is transferred to a domestic project called Hurkus which is also commenced in same years with KT-1T purchase/production program.
Hürjet project
-TAI and SNC cooperation worked together to join into USA T-X tender but This team is eliminated with their concept. Hurjet has some design lines with the concept offered to USA but Turkish domestic design is more like a combat aircraft which is going to be used for advanced training missions as well.
TF-X MMU project
-F-16 assembly in past but This project doesn't add much value in terms of technology to my country. F-35 level-3 partnership bring some experiences to TAI. Developing a national fighter is a national ambitious of Turkish Republic since 1970’s so To develop a state of art powerfull fighter, It is agreed that We have to find an experienced partner which has a stealth fighter project background in past. With this way, the defficiency of TAI regarding texhnology and design engineering is filled. It is BAE selected to help us to design our 5th generation fighter within 4 years. Turkey has released 1,3 billion $ to TAI for design phase and total cost is calculated around 30 billion $. It is one of the revolutionary defense program of Turkiye and You will see How serious my country is in following years.
Satellites (Spy/Comm)
-French communication satellites that Turkish engineers joined the processes, Later Japanese communication satellites that technology is gained from. Based on latest tech gaining attempts, TAI commenced a GEOSAT communication satellite (1-1,5t), While working on heavier domestic communication satellite called Turksat-6A (4-4,5t).
-French-Italian EO satellite is selected for Gokturk-1 satellite program. Under the project term, This consortium built a satellite assembly/test center called UMET in TAI. Before Gokturk-1 was sent to space (delayed thanks to politic tension with Israel), Turkey built own domestic satellite, with Korean optic payload, called Gokturk-2 and sent to space with Chinese rocket. Turkey has a different R&D facility called Tubitak UZAY which is developing/producing satellite subsystems as well. They are also participating into national satellite development efforts. Today, Gokturk-3 with Aselsan SAR radar payload is under development phase. A new spy satellite called Imece with a domestic sub-meter camera payload is under development phase.
