50 of those? No I hope there should be some 120+ at-least.
Brothers,
Keep all those specifications of T-129 alive in your minds because the day When Turkish and Pakistani counterparts signed agreement to co-produce a proper version of T-129 for Pakistan requirements, I am going to remind you all those specifications of your own T or P-129 again... Personally, After Milgem cooperation agreement have done between two brother country, I have strong senses to make another great cooperation agreement for T-129 in those days too... It was also being registered by Pakistan authorities who have shown their interests for T-129 in inernational defence fairs...
Regards...
i think this is the A 129 agusta mangusta.
Turkey is not China, and cannot give Pakistan a soft loan or grant. Take care.
Sir, whats the difference between the two? to me both look the same... what am I missing?
T-128 would be a lot better than SuperCobra in many ways. I am happy we didn't go for an American platform this time.
Cobras, yes, SuperCobras, no. The T-129 was in competition with te SuperCobra, and others. If the T-129 deal is finalized, then the SuperCobra dream is over. PAA will always look for more affordable Cobras. It's the PAA's F-16.
Of course, the USA could now make the SuperCobra affordable in light of this announcement, in which case I hope the PAA isn't foolish enough to fall for. Learn from the mistakes of the PAF.
for me range, speed and max take off weight are very important and Super Cobra beats iT129 if we go by your numbers. also cobra has more powerful engine
only service cieling and rate of climb is where cobra is lagging.

Still it can't out run the modern Man-portable SAMs that Pakistan's neighbors might field in the future.
I don't know why, but combat choppers seem like a waste of money. Good for insurgent warfare where the militants don't have SAMs to shoot it down, but no matter how modern it is, i can't see it surviving long in the airspace to be dominated by Mirage, MIGs,Sukhoi, F-16s or J-10s.
I know i know you can put all sorts of jammers and electronic stuff in to protect the chopper, but then that just raises the cost and the level of tech to that of a fighter.
I think, budgets should be spend more on UAVs and SMART missiles, rather than choppers.
Just my 2 cents.
