T-129 helis for P.A confirmed? PM Pakistan

Yesterday i was watchin a program on PTV about PMs visit to turkey its benefits nd stuff like taking the trade to 2 billion by next year(2011) and 17 MOUs on different stuff nd fields...... now the reporter asks PM about defence cooperation and he(PM) says tht yes we are expanding our defence ties the example is the new joint production of an assualt helicopter! now we all know which assault or laraka helicopter Turkiye makes?! The T-129!

Also they talked about the copter a few times! so doesnt tht officially confirm the induction of the heli? My guess is YES!

So congrats people!

No actually I don't in this case. The PAA loves this platform and, more importantly, the people behind it.

Let's wait for something official to come out.

I already told you guys before, i held a discussion with an officer who belonged to Pakistan Army Aviation(PAA). His response was that their is a lot of interest for this platform at PAA, the platform has been evaluated thoroughly and the Turks went out of their way in providing all the info for this project. New Generation of Anti Tank Missiles UTMAS, better protection, advanced avionics, better targeting systems along with favourable finance terms will just sweeten the deal. Expect PAA to purchase at least 50 of these machines. But for now PAA is focusing on improving its Cobra's inventory and procure additional Super Cobras because T129 wont be ready before 2015.

Lets hope this is produced in Pakistan with technology transfer.

It will result in establishing a domestic helicopter industry.

No more over priced US stuff.

Cobras, yes, SuperCobras, no. The T-129 was in competition with te SuperCobra, and others. If the T-129 deal is finalized, then the SuperCobra dream is over. PAA will always look for more affordable Cobras. It's the PAA's F-16.

Of course, the USA could now make the SuperCobra affordable in light of this announcement, in which case I hope the PAA isn't foolish enough to fall for. Learn from the mistakes of the PAF.
