Syria Violence: 200 People Killed In Assault By Government Forces

People continue to take to the streets across Syria, where the uprising is becoming increasingly militarised. The UN says more than 5,400 people have been killed since the uprising began in March. Meanwhile, the government blames "armed gangs" for the unrest and says more than 2,000 members of the security forces have been killed.

And don't compare it with Kashmir now.... its a lame argument, UNSC problem is not there in indian domestic problems. :azn:

Aljazeera is owned by Qatar, US puppet.

Of those 5400 people over 2000 are from police and Syria army. If Government would kill peaceful civilians, ratio would be 100 or more people per one soldier, but its not what we see. Common sense suggest government fighting armed fighters, 2000+ loses by government, couple of thousand armed terrorists, and ~1 thousand of civilians caught in between.

Another point, if government would be killing civilians, not only we would see massive number of casualties (which isnt the case), but also videos how it happens (havent seen any). However I did see a video of unarmed police forces retreating from snipers and getting killed.

Then what news source will you call unbiased???
Coz what you are saying depends on your perception against mine, what you believe to be the truth. Truth has become relative now, which in most cases generally is.
There are news that Doctors are not allowed to take patients and snipers shoot at them if they try to. Will you believe this?
Witnesses are saying that the army is using heavy machine guns, rocket launchers without thinking twice, is it the way of eliminating violent protesters.

.
Again, the gravity of situation in this case is far worse than that in india. No UN SC meeting is called for it. I think i am supported by majority countries foreign policy makers. I agree that Russia and China are against foreign intervention, but again they wont accept any loss of human lives.

You got it backwards. If you would remove armed terrorists from West/Arabs, situation in Syria would be much more peaceful than in India. Remember 2008 Mumbai attack? Now imagine more such terrorists in India, trained, armed, funded and send to India. And after India government would try to defend the country, West would show it as a "brutal crackdown of peaceful civilians" and call for military intervention. Thats what Syria is going through.

.
I see about a hundred peaceful protesters in a country of 22 mln., NOT being killed by the government :azn: As I said, in every single country there are dissatisfied people, but as long as they are minority, I dont see the issue.

Fact is, Syria is fighting against West/arabs backed armed terrorists, and massive West propaganda reminds me a lot of Libya, Iran, and any other war or pre-war brain washing of population.

Think for yourself, look for different sources, otherwise you'll believe nonsense of "Iraq's WMD", "Gaddafi's distribution of Viagra and mass rapes", or how "Iran will nuke Israel soon". Its all propaganda.

Okay, they can go inside and disarm both sides.

That works in theory. In practice, it is very easy to get involved in civil war after just one single bullet flies to either way. We already saw US's withdraw from Somalia because of this.

Well then it goes to poor administration of that government and lack of security measures. The problem in some parts of india emerged due to few corrupt politicians not the entire government. And the number of people in these movements is comparatively less, and they generally stop being extremists when financial and social security is provided to them. Then it doesn't matter how much better weapons you supply to them. I have visited these areas with police officers of that region and seen the people who now lead normal life.
Assad's government oppressed people to that level that few went to get armed, while rest were just peaceful protestors.

By what logic, open firing peaceful protesters (who didn't go to other country for weapons) is justified ?

Yep, best to let it keep getting worse. As more Syrian troops are defecting to the other side. Similar to Libya.

Yes it is difficult and risky task, but Assad is the key, if he gets arrested his army will not fight.

Coz what you are saying depends on your perception against mine, what you believe to be the truth. Truth has become relative now, which in most cases generally is.

Truth isnt relative, and biased source by default CANT be quoted as reliable. Truth search is like being detective, you look for different sources, whats their agenda, whats their history, and use common sense. In this case to quote West/Arabs media including Aljazeera, is as far from the truth as you can get. Havent you learned anything from their fake stories about Iraq, Libya, Iran, etc?

There are news that Doctors are not allowed to take patients and snipers shoot at them if they try to. Will you believe this?
Witnesses are saying that the army is using heavy machine guns, rocket launchers without thinking twice, is it the way of eliminating violent protesters.

Use common sense, if army would be using heavy machine guns and rocket launchers against peaceful demonstrations, you would get thousands of people dead in a few hours with zero loses for the army. And yet we are talking about few thousand civilians dead after almost a year, with over 2000 dead policemen and soldiers.

What logic says? Army is NOT using heavy machine guns and rocket launchers against peaceful demonstrations! Another point, there would be many videos of army using such weapons against civilians, everyone has a phone these days. We havent seen ANY such videos. In other words, common sense suggests such claims as you mentioned are bogus.

I just posted Arab league finding where they are saying so much of these reports are pure BS.

Once agin,

This is from the Foreign Policy,

European diplomats, meanwhile, have questioned Al-Dabi's accounts of events unfolding in Syria, including the observer mission's report on the killing of a French television journalist. Al-Dabi writes simply that the "reports of the mission already indicate that the French journalist died, and a Belgian reporter injured, as a result of mortar attacks fired by the opposition." But one European official said the report fails to mention testimony by other journalists traveling in the area that the reporter had been forced into the line of fire by pro-government supporters. "The account we received is that they were exposed to enemy fire deliberately," said one European diplomat

about the nature of the Syrian conflict by observing: “The Mission determined that there is an armed entity that is not mentioned in the protocol.”

Though the report attributes this development “to the excessive use of force by Syrian Government forces in response to protests,” it also points out that “in some zones, this armed entity reacted by attacking Syrian security forces and citizens, causing the Government to respond with further violence.”

The report then provides several examples of this:
“In Homs and Dera‘a, the Mission observed armed groups committing acts of violence against Government forces, resulting in death and injury among their ranks. In certain situations, Government forces responded to attacks against their personnel with force. The observers noted that some of the armed groups were using flares and armour-piercing projectiles.”

European diplomats scoffs at Arab League report. White men does not trust the brown folks.
A real eye opener for folks following this issue. Pay attention from page 7 onwards.

I don't want to go into philosophy but just want to say that you believe what you see what you hear and oftenly it isn't the same for person at other end.

Secondly, 238 people killed in 2 hours, is this rate called massacre or riot control by army? And are you certain the news sources that are "unbiased" according to you are giving you right estimates of civilian losses.

You always see words like 'activist' are 'Reporting'. How easily people buy this BS even after what happened in Libya.

.
Take the case of Libya using air force to attack civilians. This was primarily used to get the U.N authorization to use force. Pentagon did day they no such attack took place, after all is said and done.

How many folks remember that ?

What happend in Libya was really disgusting, Qaddafi and his family didnt deserve to end like that, but Syria is different Asad's father did the same in the past, he massacred more then 30.000.
