For example, West/Arabs planned to change Syria's government for over 10 years now. They start disinformation campaign to shape public opinion (fact). Arm, fund and train fighters to send Syria to attack government (fact). When government defends itself and people, West claims armed fighters are "peaceful civilians" (another fact of disinformation), and that excuse is being used to gather support for military intervention to change the regime, the goal which was decided 10 years ago (fact).

Bingo--key word armed. Anytime anyone takes up arms against a government it should be expected that the government will fight back. This is not to say that unarmed civilians have not been killed due to cross fire or jittery Syrian troops but the fact remains civilians have engaged Syrian troops.

Overall, it's best to look at original sources. However, most people don't have the massive amounts of time require for that, so I suggest they use RT as a source for most news. It's a good source for everything but domestic Russian news. Hell, even for domestic Russian news it isn't that bad compared to some of the crap we see in Western media.

And considering the historical track record, it would be a pretty good bet to simply assume that anything that the American government says in relation to war crimes or the lack thereof is a lie.
