Surgical strikes now part of standard response to terror strikes

Let's say there were no surgical strikes. India claims there were surgical strikes and they have not released footage for what one assumes are tactical reasons. But why didn't Pakistan release footage that all was quiet on the front? There must be surveillance footage on Pakistan's side.

I believe that there were surgical strikes. Which involve Indian troops ran across the border, shoot their guns and than run back. That is Indian version of surgical strike.

There is no footage from Pakistan's side otherwise it would be released by now.
indian side boasts about a footage but won't release it,Don't you think the people of india deserve to see the footage if not Pakistan?

It shows Indian troops crossing the border for 100 meters, shot their guns and hightailed back. They call that surgical strike.

In 3 years, Wikipedia article will increase the distance. In 10 years, helicopters would have been involved, just like the bin Laden strike.

Maybe - but both sides should release the footage to the peoples of both countries once and for all;

Holder of the burden
When two parties are in a discussion and one makes a claim that the other disputes, the one who makes the claim typically has a burden of proof to justify or substantiate that claim especially when it challenges a perceived status quo.
While certain kinds of arguments, such as logical syllogisms, require mathematical or strictly logical proofs, the standard for evidence to meet the burden of proof is usually determined by context and community standards and conventions.

Excellent narrative of what happened. Very puzzling that the Indians want surveillance footage on the Pakistani side of Nothing happened. If the Pakistan surveillance saw them coming, they would all be dead.

Why don't you ask the villagers of Athmuqam, Tarinkot and al Hawi bridge area what happened on that night.

Anyways top US General has endorsed surgical strikes happened:

https://www.dawn.com/news/1319770

We did asked residents of that area. They said it was a poorly planned and even poorly executed cross border raid on Pakistani border posts which ended without achieving anything.

Pakistan executed similar surgical strikes or cross border raids both before and after Sep 29. At least 4 Indian soldiers died in at least 2 surgical strikes or cross border raids by Pakistan.

US general himself has no details or proofs about this so called surgical strikes and is just endorsing claimed Indian actions against "terrorists". He is just assessing likelihood of conflict between Pakistan and India in case of such claims and counter claims.

It is funny but it is exactly what has happened. Cross LOC to few meters or even a kilometer if Pakistani border post in that area is located deep in side the territory. Fire bullets and use all the ammo in the dark all over the place. And then run back and then claim death of hundreds of "terrorists" later in the morning. And call it a surgical strike.

It is an Indian version of surgical strikes. Fire bullets blindly. And then run back. And then keep cheering it for years to come. :yahoo:

Navy Chief and Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee Admiral Sunil Lanba releases second oint doctrine Indian armed forces.

India’s latest military doctrine has added surgical strikes, including across the border, among India’s possible responses to terrorist attacks.

The ‘joint doctrine Indian armed forces’ prepared by the Headquarters, Integrated Defence Staff was released by Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee and Navy Chief in the South Block on Tuesday. The first joint military doctrine was released in 2006.

“The response to terror provocations could be in the form of ‘surgical strikes’ and these would be subsumed in the sub-conventional portion of the spectrum of armed conflict,” the doctrine states.

The reclassification of surgical strikes, officials said, shows that they are not a one-off event any more but part of several options that would be considered. In the last two years, the Army had carried out surgical strikes across the border with Myanmar and Line of Control (LoC) Pakistan, targeting terrorist camps.

The doctrine will serve as a cornerstone document for application of military power in a “synergised manner leading to enhanced efficiency, optimum utilisation of resources and financial savings,” the Navy said in a statement.

The revised doctrine was formulated in a record time of nine months, a senior officer said. Last year’s event of surgical strikes and increased tensions on the border gave further impetus to it.

“Doctrines are always works in progress and keep evolving from time to time. A colligate approach was adopted and all three service Headquarters actively participated in the formulation of this capstone document,” a senior officer told The Hindu.

In the past decade or so, a lot of integration has taken place in the Indian armed forces which is highlighted in this doctrine, especially integration in the field of operations, training, management, and perspective planning. The officer stated that this will be followed by formulation of other keystone doctrines like information warfare, training and so on in due course.

“It speaks of the threat posed by radicalisation of youth and also lays emphasis on a proactive philosophy of the Indian armed forces,” the officer added, highlighting the key points in the document.

Darn. Do you have proof of this 100 meter claim? Or is it a number you pulled from thin air like a lot of Chinese claims?

Haha wrong , a little advise keep watching your Bollywood lolz
As for Bollywood, I think the Indian folks take it almost religiously. Who knows in future it might be like what's cow now!!!!!

Didn't they use a helicopter?
In India, staffs have the habit of getting "untouchable" - Dalits, cow, surgical strikes etc...

Again with the fantasy's I see hahah lolz there never were any surgical strikes nor their ever will be in your wildest dreams and you know it keep having these wet dreams to show your nation fake lies just like your Bollywood.
Talking about Bollywood, almost all the Turkish folks in my age group saw a movie called Awara. It was the time of b/w single channel limited time government TV. Somehow, that movie got dubbed into Turkish and was shown a number of times in TV. It was quite popular - nice songs, gorgeous actresses and smart/handsome actors etc. Later I learned that folks were Pashtun/Muslim origin!!!! They may not feature in Modi/Yogi's wish list!!!!

Don't know the contents of the book the uniformed folks are holding, but most of the folks look well fed!!! At the least the myth that the Indian Army doesn't feed its soldiers well is debunked!!!!!
