Supreme Court Pakistan and COAS Bajwa Extension: News & Discussions

i think if matters are resolved at respected forums earlier there will be no need to take such matters to sc and it will strengthen army as institution as its own judicial system becomes independent regarding dealing such matters and implementing controls over any misuse of authority
Please read the constitution of Pakistan, Supreme Court will always have the last say in any legal matter, whether the military or civil.

So, ARY quotes the court as saying that the summary was sent to the President and he did sign it. This suggests that all formalities have been completed well in advance. (Side note, this also dispels all those Maulana rumors too).

The court is arguing what is the need for an extension. Under the current premise, every officer will want to get an extension.

Things sure are going to get interesting.

Interesting observation. Although I do not trust ARY as a source. But the need for an extension can be justified by the Government in the court. But the fact remains, if President issues an order, Supreme Court cannot overturn it unless there's a violation of a law, which doesn't seems to be the case here, only the technicalities.

What kind of an argument is that ? He has no understanding of military matters but yet want to sound like a genius... Is COAS like every other officer ?? Seriously...

Fazool mein drama create kar raha hai...Another iftikhar choundry.... The good thing is that he will be gone by the end of this year..... Small man big offices.

Check this out.

"Cabinet's approval was required," Attorney General (AG) Anwar Mansoor Khan responded. "The prime minister signed [the notification] after the cabinet's approval."

"After the cabinet gave its approval, did the president approve it again?" the chief justice asked, to which the attorney general responded in the negative.

"Only the president of Pakistan can extend the tenure of the army chief," he said during the hearing.

"We can take approval from the president again," the attorney general said.

i think justice saqib nisar also interfered within govt matters but has no knowledge of such matters but was praised by pti at that time, why this not come to their mind at that time, double standards and munafiqat will result in wrath of ALLAH ALMIGHTY
Irrelevant...He has no understanding of military matters and should not butt in things he does not understand

This is about CJ V/s Civilian Government whereby COAS Extension has just become a matter to grill upon and show superiority. Those who think of any bias in extension, are the most clueless minds in respect of Warfare & Current Strategic Issues for any military tactics. The political atmosphere & TV Shows aren't what you see at most rather, there are games into play and hostiles are merely looking for a window of opportunity to make a dent. Has it been the peacetime; there wouldn't be any need of extensions at all.

The new man in the office will need ample time period to understand things at hand in mix of the power being envisaged along with hostilities & foreign military relations/strategic warfare into play. The few may hate Military in default for their own issues but such petty cry is not relevant except for the internet hate. Try to look into the issue beyond political & personal spectrum and weigh the situation at hand, if truly meant to understand as what we are dealing with internally & foreign elements/entities.
