Yes, it is quite true that the same action performed by two different parties will elicit two different responses by people with certain cognitive biases. If the congress did this, there would be pungent cries of "sickularism", "Italian govt", "vatican" and so on. When the BJP govt does the same sensible thing, its kosher.

On topic, obviously this is the right thing to do, and I'm pretty sure they will not try any tricks like the previous time. That fiasco cost them in many ways, and their foreign minister had to resign over the idiocy.

So far BJP has done NOTHING to find faults with. CONgress has done PLENTY to find faults with. Where is the confusion ?

So far the Marine is an under trial here and since he is innocent until proven guilty we cannot treat him as guilty. That being said since Italy has provided sovereign guarantee to return the marine and since there is a Medical condition that has been confirmed by Indian doctors the court had no choice but to grant bail to the marine. There is a medical case here and the law is pretty clear about that. Now the choice of treatment is on the patient, we cannot tell him to go to a hospital in India. If he choose a hospital in Italy, thats it. EVEN INDIAN UNDER TRIALS GET bail due to medical reason.

So far ONLY ONE Marine has been allowed to go back for medical treatment.

Congress gave BOTH marines a free pass during CHRISTMAS ...something not granted to Indian citizens in jail. That was the hypocrisy.


It is disgusting how you can compare the two and say the BJP is just as guilty as the congress. In which parallel universe ???
