Super Su-30MKI: From Air Dominance To Air Supremacy

That's the question, there are several interesting infos, several things that were speculated before (radar in the wingroots), but also several wrong infos!
MKI will only be able to carry a single Brahmos on the centerline station at the begining and not 2 on the wings like he said. Russian officials confirmed that the goal is to carry 3, but only with a smaller and lighter version, that is under development.
EF jammers uses phased arrays but not active, only SPECTRA jammers uses AESA module, the engine specs are even better than of the S117 engine, that the Su35 and T50 uses now (151kN and 6000h vs 145kN and 4000h). That also leads to the next issue, Supercruise, which is only possible if the weight will be reduced as well, because the MKI is already very heavy and all the changes will add much weight as well. Capabilities like buddy refuelling, or carrying litening, or recon pods are not new as well.

The AMLCD configuration is derived from what was originally designed for the Su-35. It will apply to the Super Su-30MKI as well. As for new-generation air-to-ground PGMs as and when they become available from Russia or elsewhere, depending on the operational reqmts, they will be easily integrated with the Super Su-30MKI's navigation-and-attack system due to its open-architecture design. The Su-30MKI can presently accommodate only one BrahMos in its underbelly without any structural modifications to the airframe. But since the IAF has specified that it wants two underwing-mounted BrahMos missiles to be carried by a Su-30MKI, IAF-specific structural modifications to the Su-30MKI airframe are required.
Also to be noted is that the IAF has gone for the distributed AESA-array configuration (for the mini-AEW & C role) primarily as a back-up capability just in case the DRDO/CABS is unable to deliver the indigenous AEW & CS on time. In addition, have an embedded mini-AEW & C capability within a strike package oriented towards offensive air campaigns has some unique advantages aimed at neutralising the force-multiplier capabilities offered by hostile AEW & C platforms. This is an entirely standalone issue that I will dwell upon in future.-Prasun K. Sengupta

I think this is rather missing the point and the "mini-AWACS" is more of a force mulitplier and a function not as a "in case" if DRDO AWACS are not completed in time as DRDO AWACs aren't going to cover 100% of conflict zone during war so it is very use ful to have this function also the A-50 based Phalcon AWACs are also in service so these aren't "in case" platforms but more of a "extra" very useful ability.

j-20,whatever it might be,is a prototype,while this thread is about an aircraft that has already been deployed in large numbers and the most technically superior jet in the region.
I can also say,watch out for my grand daddy of all fighter aircrafts which I am going to assemble in the colonies of Mars and then teleport them to Earth.Does not make any difference in the present context,does it?

Also,think about the hypocrisy.Chinese are building some new aircraft,just made the prototype only,Pakistan is not even remotely related to the project,and some Pakistani is already having a wet dream thinking about how powerful it may be in future..

No one is 100% credible in defense reporting especially in future projects.These future projects may change according to Economic,Social,Political factors. So for the time being these information's are believable.

How can the 4th richest country in the world, cant even upgrade a plane even after owning it for over 5 years, is pathetic!!!

Su-30MKI is not a co-developed project like PAK-FA, the OEM's got the right to upgrade this aircraft.

Why would you want a technological demonstrator only when the Su-35S is already available.But I am sure IAF won't go for the Su-35S unless the Russians make a twin seat variant even then I suppose it would be highly unlikely for the IAF to go for them.
