Thanks for that. But my Q is for the first batch of SU-30MKI that as per 1000kv (1st post) send to Russia for upgrade, and will be back in 2014. On top of that we have the new deal for 42 aircrafts.
Are we agree on that?
And if we are, is the price of 110 billion is for both deals?
Thanks
AJ
The first batch of ~40 SU-30Ks delivered to the IAF in 1996 were subsequently returned to Russia and replaced by SU-30MKIs. Those original SU-30Ks are sitting somewhere in Russia and apparently there is interes from Bulgaria in procuring them. Now 2 IAF MKIs were sent to Russia last year to be upgraded to the full SUPER-30 standard with the ability to fire Bhramos and all the other goodies and these two will probably act as prototypes and will eventually be returned to frontline IAF service. Subsequently the next batch of 42 MKIs that are on order will be made in India by HAL and will be the SUPER-30s. Those MKIs not upgraded to the full SUPER std (numbers are still unclear) will still undergo their MLU in~2017 where all the upgrades that don't require major structural changes will be done is radars,EW suite, avionics, cockpit, weapons suite etc hope this helps.
