Russian war plane in Syria made all your analogies null and void.
I wouldn't agree with that. It's popular support that wins people's war.

People's war should be our plan 'B'. If we focus too much on plan 'B' than our Plan 'A' which is the deterrence and defence of the country in a conventional war and to prevent overrun by the enemy will weaken. Our maximum effort should be focused on increase the deterrence/conventional capabilities then extra energy should be dedicated to think about the 'post defeat/people's war' scenario.Against Burma, BD can expect to win a high-tech war, but not with India. BD needs to wage a people's war against India if we lose a conventional war. Our ANSAR and VDP are not exactly what we may want them to be. Some people love to call them JOKES. However, these two groups are not something wasteful. In an emergency these two groups can be enlarged and trained that will become a People"s Army. But, only correct time will create such a force and today, it is only the frame of such a future force. We must note the two groups as well as BGB are controlled directly by the military. It has some meaning.
process has been started
People organize their war at the point when the country is overrun by foreign troops. This is what happened in Europe during the 2nd WW. BD is not giving any intensive training to Ansar and VDP that can be said as readying them for a People's War, but these two organizations will be the source of polarization under the military leadership in times of necessity. This is why, I think, the two organizations are needed.People's war should be our plan 'B'. If we focus too much on plan 'B' than our Plan 'A' which is the deterrence or defence of the country in a conventional war and to prevent overrun by the enemy will weaken. Our maximum effort should be focused on increase the deterrence/conventional capabilities then extra energy should be dedicated to think about the 'post defeat/people's war' scenario.
This part is nice:
We all know what lax definition that can entail when it comes to BD. 10 years later the "process" can still be starting.
@madokafc
Plus what is BD definition of frigate? Also remains to be seen. I don't believe a thing your govt says by default till I see clear evidence (just look at your JF-17 "deal" you lot were all jumping up and down about...and now its on the cooler as usual lol). SHW is only there to make sure enough BD people hate each other and punching bag is softened up and kept warm for us should we need to flex a bit on it.

To the Indians, these all are Fishing Boats.

BD needs to focus more on special forces. we know 1st para commando battalion are going to form a brigade level.within a decade at least 20,000 member needs in special forces, at least one battalion per division in BD.they will have modern arms with aviation wing, APC, Tank. in case any places of our country if necessary they will ready for special operation in border or in other countries or internal matter of own country. no more time waste like 1st para commando battalion join in Gulshan operation from Sylhet.
162,000 precisely,After completion of 10 division goal,it will certainly cross 200,000.I also feel it is very inadequate.
just wait and see, as per their famous catch word "Wait till 2030" as per BD future plan.
Seriously many country in the region doing more and talk later after their finished their work.
dont know why you suggest special forces like para commando need heavy weaponry like APC or even MBT.
You should know what is their roles, what kind of mission they will likely to encounter and what kind of training and sylabus doctrine they will using before mentioning what kind of gear and armament they will needed.
Instead of enlarging the special forces command structure and organization you should suggest BD Army and MoD to build one heavy strike/expeditionary type unit at Corps level. They will serve as mobile hammering units meanwhile your local army divisions from cantonment area will acts as an anvil to bear the brunt of enemy attacks and delaying their movement as long as they could.
To the Indians, these all are Fishing Boats.
But I'd say most of their older boats are rather old in terms of technology and need serious upgrades.
I suggest we come up with a list of equivalents their navy will field against ours, meaning the best they have of equivalent armament and firepower. That way we know strategically what we're .up against. This will be a nice reality check and fodder for subsequent discussion.
So all the claims of Bangladeshi Army alone and that too only active soldiers to be around 250000 were wrong. You really need much bigger Army and also Air Force
