What's new

Submarine bases are for the navy.

Meh...you're no different from your compatriots in making ridiculous claims.

Here is it once more... If India arms the kolkata class with 16 Brahmos, does it imply that Indian navy has little confidence in their readiness of the Brahmos missile system ?

plz continue to satisfy yourself with toys....
a busy enemy never attacks...

. . .
The same applies to Indian efforts bro.. But with some Chinese help, I believe we can accelerate this process.

I am very certain China will do a Gwadar in Bangladesh. Then India will be flanked by two Chinese bases operated jointly with both host countries.

Wait till the next elections, Sri Lanka will be the final nail in the coffin.

Chinese bases in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be sitting ducks to Indian military in event of a war
Bangladesh and Sri Lankan governments are not stupid to drag their countries into India-China conflict.
Quit taking people for fools

I only have questions.....
learn to put questions....
answers depend on questions asked....

''putting several types of electronics and armaments in one ship means there is little confidence in their readiness''

putting several types of electronics and armaments in one ship means there is little confidence in their readiness.... backup of backup of backup is required only when there's a reliability issue.... there's no point advertising such weaknesses....
BALONY.

All warships do a varying degree (depending on how much space there is and how big the ship may get and how much money there is to spend) employ the principle of layered defence, mixing hard and soft kill systems and using often several hard and soft kill systems side by side. Likewise on the side of sensors. Anything that emits can be detected, hence just in case you have to go to emcon, you back up a radar system with an El/Op system. And clearly you have multiple radars, because they are optimized for different tasks e.g. low refresh rate long range volume air search v. high refresh rate short range tracking systems, air v surface search and fire control/target illumination.

@Penguin just for you buddy
Clear enough?

Well imagine those bases armed with the latest HQ-10, radars, CJ-10 cruise missiles, 055 cruisers, 052Ds, submarines, aircraft carrier on each side of the IOR and 100 J-11/J-10. This is not hypothetical, the Chinese military actually has the capability and financial means to create these bases, the only thing stopping them is ambition.

I am very certain Bangladesh is anti India, Sri Lanka would have to depend on the elections outcome, but if Rajapaksa wins again, it will be bye bye India.

BD needs to focus more on special forces. we know 1st para commando battalion are going to form a brigade level.within a decade at least 20,000 member needs in special forces, at least one battalion per division in BD.they will have modern arms with aviation wing, APC, Tank. in case any places of our country if necessary they will ready for special operation in border or in other countries or internal matter of own country. no more time waste like 1st para commando battalion join in Gulshan operation from Sylhet.

The only real threat to Bangladesh is India. How would you defense against an Indian invasion ?

Those bases are cut off from Chinese mainland. They will be blasted out of existence in a war. During the cold war these countries refused to get involved with USA. Why are they going to change for China ?

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will not participate in a war against India. It will be suicidal.

Bangladesh don't have to go to war with India, they can just remain neutral and leave the Chinese base alone. Don't forget the Chinese army is not really that far from Bangladesh. Maintaining a base on both fronts of the IOR will give pressure to Indian Navy.

Look at Bangladeshi actions, they are buying Chinese subs, and the Chinese are helping them build that submarine base. China can just sign a treaty with both Pakistan and Bangladesh like the Indo-Bhutan treaty. If India attacks Bangladesh, Pakistan and China will join in the melee.

Looking at the size of Bangladeshi Army, it is very suitable to be armed and trained by China. With proper funding and equipment, this army can be powerful.
