That's some reality check right there. More such reality checks are on the way as you burn through your forex reserves & taka finds it's real value.
Bangladesh isn't competitive in manufacturing, exporting RMG on GSP quota is nothing to write home about.
And the lack of non-RMG industries in Bangladesh is the reason for Bangladesh's forex crisis despite the country having a relatively lower fuel import bill.
Bangladesh lacks the skilled workforce needed to diversify into non-RMG sectors whether it's for local consumption or exports.
I have already posted data about your logistics sector where container dwell times in your largest port is 10 days. The only reason why you are still surviving are A) GSP quota & B) extremely low wages.
No you can't.
Display panels are dominated by the likes of Samsung (currently exiting the business), LG & Chinese TCL and you want me to believe that this company no one knows about designs & manufactures them?
Display Fabs are multi billion dollar investments, and no one in Bangladesh has enough moolah to invest into them.
Also if you think this company has such R&D capabilities, please do provide their R&D expenditure, work force employed in R&D & a few patents filed by them. I made this offer to your friend Bilal a few days before, and the challenge is open to every one.
Please show me at least three (3) products that has been developed in Bangladesh with a decent level of engineering/ technological input and development costs in at least tens of millions. With proper details of development budget, project directors, R&D and test infrastructure.
I can probably show a hundred of those from India, but I will still accept that you are technologically ahead of India & have every rights to mock us- if you manage to show me three such products that is.
BTW your GDP per capita would have a correction soon thanks to depreciation of your currency & IMF's monitoring of your statistical data. Wait & watch.
