No but it does in Islam ( in all 3 religions of The Book even ).
That's the context for the iconographic description of
an armed branch of a Muslim government, not desi.

I sort of thought you did but felt better pointing it out
before someone more zealous took harsh exception to
the state symbol / stupid or even just funny association.

Maybe the design choice was for the logo to look like
the Baphomet by the way. Would not an undercover
spy look like his targets? It could be a warning of sorts :

-We'll look like villains at first glance and destroy them in the end.

...

Or the designer listened to too much hard rock and it was subconscious.

It is quite powerful.

About that other logo that started this debate, it depicts a red crescent, organization in Muslim world that is same as European Red Cross. There is nothing sinister in that either.
