SSG Commando's that took part in the GHQ Operation

. .
To drive home blain2's excellent point on Zarrar co CQB entry teams, here are some more pictures of these guys. It takes some amazing men to be able to go in knowing there are suicide bombers inside and your chances of success are slim.

What you see here is a typical SSG demo shown to insiders. The reason the hostage takers are wearing ballistic helmets is because the CT team of the SSG is using live ammunition during this demonstration. Once a friend of mine was asked to sit in the kill house during the demo. The SSG operators came in, did their work, shot up all the targets (static and pop-ups) all around this friend of mine who was essentially a role-playing hostage (my friend got the honour of sitting in because his father was Commander SSG.) :P

These guys have immense trigger control and quickness of mind and body. Inside a confined space with weapons, these SSGs operators are as good as any out there.

There are two companies in the Special Services Group trained for counter-terrorism, how can we be sure it was Zarrar Company tat stormed the GHQ outpost?

There was only one company that had the CT role. I believe the company has been expanded due to the increased need for this capability. The role has been shifted around two different companies of the SSG. It used to be the domain of M company and then later on Zarrar company was given this tasking which it maintains to this day.

They are Zarrar Company alright (The Anti-Terrorist Unit of SSG) and their weapon of choice is the accessorized AK-47 that you see in their hands. This weapon gives great control with the front grip and the Holographic Sight on the Piccatinny rail on top in Close Quarter Battle (CQB) situation. I should know; I have trained with them few years back ;)

sorry mate but they r carrying type 81....
