Zarrar Company SSG at its very best! Proud of You Boys!

And I really admire what you have done to the AK-47! Love the accessories on them

Are these the AK-47 or the TYPE-56?

If they are the AK-47, I think they're using a "Black Widow" upgrade on the AK. Retractable/folding butt, lighter weight for paratroopers, rails for telescopic and laser sights, and a rail-mounted extra grip for better accuracy and less recoil.

These are type 56s with upgrades. Retractable folding stock/butt is available on the Type 56s too. The upgrade here is the sighting and the foregrip.

To add to Xyon's earlier point. The Zarrar ATT of the SSG includes sub-teams that are specifically trained for MoE and dynamic entry. Besides that, operators from the same team also provide perimeter security for the MoE operators involved in the operation inside of the building. The core team comprised of operators engaged in dynamic entry during hostage rescue wear their black dungarees and use M-4s and MP-5s for close quarter engagements along with body protection and kevlar helmets. Type-56 is definitely not the weapon of choice in such situations and is used by the operators on perimeter security.

I think that the reason the AK was used for this GHQ encounter was because of the lethal penetration of the 7.62mm round vs a 9mm. For the last few years I have seen our SSG preferring to use the AK (accessorized to give more control & better aim) compared to MP-5 or the M-4 for almost all of such situations. AK was used in the Lal Mosque op and also in the Rah e Rast Op in Swat.

What level of body armour they are wearing is it imported or made in pakistan...

why they dont have tactical shield. because it is important in these type of operations

I believe the difference is where it is being used. For room clearance type work, AKs and variants are simply not practical. You need to move in tight spaces very fluidly and the Type-56 is a hindrance regardless of the big round. Also keep in mind that in CQB like situations and specifically for dynamic entry, the 5.56 round of the M-4 will put anyone down. It has considerable velocity even though the round is smaller. At close distances, its simply devastating and the carbine is small enough for use here. SSG folks have also used MP-5 in this role for so long that it remains an effective weapon in such situations.

You are very correct that Type-56 was used in the LM op. But by those SSG operators who were responsible for perimeter security. The Methods of Entry team of the Zarrar company uses MP-5s and M-4s exclusively. Most of the time these folks who are the real heroes (<-- see picture. It pains me to share this but I do so because most people do not realize the real face of the SSG that goes in and does the take downs, media usually just puts out pictures of the perimeter security) are never seen in pictures or by the media because they deploy on the inside. What we do see in pictures most often is other SSG troops who support the MoE team that goes in to put down the terrorists.

For reference sake, just posting an older picture of an ATT operator in standard kit:

One question only, if we have made POF eye then why special ops forces arent using this weapon and I beleive this weapon is specifically design for this purpose.

Cornershot/POF-EYE is for use in FIBUA etc.

Punjab elite force members have also acquitted themselves well after today's attacks. I hope the law enforcement moves into a more proactive mode. Force these militant groups to go underground and not give them so much space to operate at a time and place of their choosing. Time to conduct "chaapay" and put the heat on these militants and their abettors. Otherwise Pakistani LEAs will always be on the defensive and bear the brunt of losses.

I think that it is high time that the PRIME MINISTER (??!!) OF PAKISTAN should come on the television to address the nation, to give them hope and support and to confirm instant death on the spot for ANY OR ALL misguided terrorists who attack either civilians or any government installations.

The moral of our LEA's is very high and they need leadership to get rid of these TTP pussies once and for all!

Wake Up PPP!
