it is natural for Srilankans(Sinhalese and Tamils are one people) to be closer to Tamil nadu. the Tamil nationalism propagated and nourished by various Dravidian parties are the reason why, today we see such reports. tamils attacking lankans, tamils attacking kannadiga,malyali etc .

GoI must interfere on TN state syllabus and reverse the brainwashing of "fake theory of Dravidianism and associated Tamil nationalism". today, Tamilnadu is seen as a aggressor against Karnatka or Kerala states. no offense intended.. but frank truth.

On the other hand Kerala is ready to release the Mulai periyar water to the seas but is not ready to share it with TN.

Textile firms back out of Colombo fabric fair

With the four textile firms from Tamil Nadu announcing their decision to call off their participation in the 4th Colombo International Yarn and Fabric Show 2013, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) has called of its proposed agitation in front of their offices.

Soon after the news about participation of four textile firms from Coimbatore and Chennai planning to participate in the fair to be held in the island nation, TPDK announced that it would picket the offices of the textile firms to register their protest.

Tamil outfits have been expressing opposition to the visitors from Sri Lanka to India accusing the island nation of having indulged in “war crimes and genocide”.

Similarly, it was also opposed to any kind of participation by people from India and particularly from Tamil Nadu and had warned against any tie-up with Sri Lanka in terms of participation, sharing of expertise and imparting of any training.

Following an announcement made about the proposed agitation, textile firms had sent e-mails to TPDK stating that in due respect to the sentiments they are withdrawing their participation from the fair to be held in Sri Lanka from February 28 to March 2.

In view of the decision taken by the firms to withdraw their participation, the Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) General K. Ramakrishnan has also announced the withdrawal of the proposed agitation.

Dear Friend I am a strong suppoter of SrlLankan Tamils & their issues..................But please don't post wrong things regrading Mulaperiyaar.............We are ready to share water with you but we wanted TN consent to build a new dam as the old one is more than 100 years old..............Your CM made a issue of it .................If that dam collapse.............Then 4 to 5 districts of Kerala will be wiped out..............

I understand the risk of the old dam, but the problem is too much poiticised on either side of the border, and you can see that in many places that I have told that the dam need to be reconstructed or reinfoced to the highest standard possible. The latter option sounds better as it ensures the saftey of the existing dam and also does not deprieve the TN farmers for the next 10 years during the construction of the new dam.
But of people of Kerala insist that we go with a new dam, be would support the decession but with a little heavy heart and there might be opposition as well. but in due time all well be sorted out

Lankans do and will visit any part of India whenever they want. To clarify it more the ones who visit Tamil Nadu in this case are Catholics (both sinhala and tamil). They visit the Velankannai church. becasue many make promises to visit this church as a religous duty. What TN goons doing here is violating the religous rights which is a basic HR of sri Lankan catholic ppl.

Buddhists (sinhala) normally go to Bodhgaya but will visit Tamil Nadu for shopping and touring. From what i have heard from ppl who went there Sinhalese are a target market among TN shoppers that some even have shops with sinhala name boards (wonder how long they would exist).

And I'd like to knw what are those "basic" HR tamils were deprived of in SL. ????

tamils do not attack anyone at all! Though I'm not a tamilian, I've lived there for several years and I have yet to see them have a SINGLE thing against any other Indian. In fact I feel quite embarassed when I look at tams who welcome mallus with open arms and praise that culture when within mallus there was a lot of disdian towards tams. If you're talking about issues between sinhalese and tams, that's because you don't know history. There was a time when tamilians were discriminated by sinhalese in sri lanka, including segregation, denial of education in school and jobs. This was not just a societal attitude but govt. policy. No matter how much sri lankans deny this, that was the true root of the rise of LTTE and associated collateral damage.

I told u once not to go on talking about things u have no knowledge of. Please tell me when Tamils were subjected to segregation, denial of education and jobs??? As u are trying to portray urself as a knowledgable guy pls be humble and tell me.

Stupid argument ever heard.... S. Radhakrishnan, APJ Abdul Kalam and R. Venkataraman... ALL studied in the so called TN State Syllabus and they turned out to be just fine!

Don't generalize! What would have happened if someone threw the petrol bomb, At the omni bus carrying pilgrims.... Not everyone has same mind! And TN police cannot save every inch of Chennai-Vellankanni highway 24/7.

Wow... "BASIC" Human Rights.... Where was it when a 9 year old boy is shot? Where was it when thousands of women's are raped? Where was it when thousands of unarmed civilians are massacred?
