LTTE wanted separation from Sri Lanka and rebelled against the writ of the state. Now how can you judge actions of Sri Lankan administration responsible for crushing LTTE in the light of this fact?

If one of the provinces in India demands separation and rebels against the writ of the state, would you Indians be supporting this separatist movement?

Before judging others, try to ascertain the 'ground realities' of the subject.

Whether Sri Lanka celebrates victory over LTTE or not, it is internal matter of the country. LTTE and its supporters are perceived as terrorists in Sri Lanka and rightfully so.

No sane Indian here will support LTTE. Our problem is how SLA defeated LTTE which includes mass killings of Tamil Civilains. The Srilankans here are very proud of how they defeated LTTE, but in this nationalistic jingoism they are forgetting what happened to their fellow Tamil citizens. Here in this case, however hard they tried to show this parade is a Sinhala one not a Srilankan one.

To defeat a rebellion, one has to address its root causes. Those civilians were guilty of rebelling against the state and were the main source of manpower for LTTE.

The main reason of failure of US (in Afghanistan), Pakistan, and India against separatist movements/rebels is that we are too soft to contain them.

Like i said earlier LTTE's defeat is a good thing for the Indian Govt as well,

Problem here is not ensuring human rights properly which will be exploited by the LTTE for propaganda purposes and gain greater sympathy among the Tamil populace.

If we don't address this problem and isolate the LTTE here, all this effort goes to waste.

Then you have to start with the bigoted laws passed by Sinhala majority against Tamils. At independence, SL Tamils were the most educated and prosperous community in SL, now they are reduced to living as refugees in their own countries and countries like India. Clearly not all blame can be put on Tamils, they tried the non-violent means first before switching on to violence.

Hearts and minds cannot be won by lobbing shells into the middle of civilian population. If that was the case we would have solved our Maoist insurgency in a month.

What is the law passed against Tamils? mention those, I'd love to know!

This is false too. In India there is around 65,000 Tamil refugees and around 5000 in IDP camps in Sri Lanka, they represets the areas still not de-mine. Around 90% of area has de-mined and resettled. After this we have to resettle all the moors and Sinhalese who lost their lands and homes in those conflict area.

This is not easy task though government is doing their best Just like they did in Eastern province.

There are no rights on fishing in Sri Lankan waters, even your Mr. Krishna also told no Indian fishermen have right to enter in to Sri Lankan waters.

Retrieving back katchatheevu seems the only measure to avoid crossing the borders...
