Yo!! To all the people trolling here, quit it. Whatever the political reason be, its still a military victory against a terrorist organisation. So please STFU and enjoy the pics.

Okay then... as our separatist organizations in NE are almost finished, lets have bad *** military parade like this there as a message to North Easterners 'Behave or will be made to' or 'This is how rest of India rolls' and see how reconciliation happens.

I am glad that our politicians eventhough dumb at times are not so dumb like the Srilankan ones.

This is wrong. Why would you make a military parade for defeating your own countrymen Sri Lankan Tamils? Have a parade if you defeat an outside enemy, but by doing parades like this, SL Tamils will feel more isolated and will only cause them to feel like outsiders or 2nd class citizens in their own country.

My intention is not to hurt any feelings of Sri Lankans, but just provide a neutral viewpoint. Just my $0.02.

I thanked your post because I agree with the sentiment you have expressed, but I disagree that we should directly get involved in the Tamil cause. SL Tamils are Sri Lankans, not Indians. We will always have a special bond with SL Tamils, just like we do with Hindus, Sikhs and Christians in Pakistan and Bangladesh. We should provide them moral support to their cause, and should speak up for them if they are discriminated, but getting directly involved is something we should refrain from.

In the entire post, i did not get if u are accusing Indian Tamils or Srilankan Tamils or all Tamils..

people like u are the reason, why Tamils in ur country feel marginalized...until u take steps to assuage their concerns, groups like LTTE will rise again and again. These Victory parades dont help them, only creates more resentment against Sinhalese..

And btw if i were Srilankan, i would be very nice to India. The last time u pissed of India, u had a civil war in ur wars for 3 decades...

To be fair, did Sri Lanka do anything different with their Tamils that India would not have had there been an Indian Sinhalese separatist movement on Indian soil?

Celebrating it nationally though is highly crass and politically stupid. It reeks of racial post-genocidal triumphalism than a mature nationalistic quelling of an indigenous separatist movement.

They dont understand that such foolish bravado will only push Tamil extremists in India and outside world to try to restart the insurgency..and if unfortunately for u, in future, we have a government at the centre which feels that Srilanka is returning back to the stupid policies it tried to execute in 1970's( when it invited US to have a naval base in Srilanka to counter India and now is doing the same thing by courting china), then u will have another civil war in ur hands which will definitely not be good for Srilankans..

Do u have any shame the way ur Celebrating Killing of innocent people ... there is No humanity left in u.. what Fishery Rights r u taking about ... we donated Katchatheevu to u on a Condition that indian fisher men will be allowed Fish there ...
