its obvious you've never driven a Tesla. The car is designed to slow down and stop when the gas (accelerator) pedal is lifted due to its regenerative brakes. I love it when people comment on stuff they have no clue about.

BTW Tesla brakes are made by Brembo the same company that makes brakes for Formula 1 racing cars.

I don't own a Tesla and I hate all electric cars except golf carts it's the only thing electric cars are good for..

Haven't driven a Tesla before, but is there no hand brakes that can help slow the car down slowly?

Some anecdotal evidence :
1- Driver is looking to stop at a parking . Then suddenly accelerates - Driver error , may have pressed the wrong pedal.

2- Driver avoids the first and 2nd obstacle - driver has some wits about him , has plenty of time to correct .
Not looking to damage , himself or the vehicle.

3- Car is continually accelerating - Pedal jam/software issue/Braking also failed.
Alternative : insurance fraud, cooked up issue.(because of point 2 , not inclined to believe this)

People here in Florida love their Tesla's, talked to a bunch of them who owns them have high regard for them, A guy who used to work with me even ask me to drive but for some reason I refused politely, Something about Tesla doesn't feel right, or maybe its just me. I had to some day take a test drive in it.

Anybody who drive a EV will never go back ICE becos even a cheap kia EV torque can easily beat Ferrari ICE.

Those who love speed , will live EV. The instant power is mesmerizing.

Tesla has no handbrake, only P gear.

In addition, there is an electronic handbrake in the central control large screen.
