South Asia Has a New Economic Leader. Will the World Take Note?

Sadly Pakistan is forever fücked
Call me what you want but I still think my people are the cream of Asia. And the land that nurtured civilization 8,000 years ago will rise. It's in our DNA. But yes I agree it will take maybe two generation for the religious tide to abate and secular education to really spread and manifest in our female half of the country ~ the asset of any country as they nurture the next generation. So hope to see you and overtake you guys in two generations. Of course I won't be there to see it but you know what I mean.

Trajectory. Look at trajectory. 1971. Basket case. We used to sniff at these beggers. 2020 and they have that over bloated India in their rear view mirror. Now apply that trajectory forward to the next 40 years. See my point?

lol relax bro,

When did I present an alternate view, the fact is, they are doing well, which I said, and they will do better, I said that also.

All I said was, don't celebrate before hitting the finish line, if anyone thinks Bangladesh is anywhere near the finish line, then they are sorely mistaken. I will be extremely happy if Bangladesh became a developed country, Ameen. But, I am not here to offer my empty support, I don't believe brothers should do that.

There's a lot do as yet, and all I said was it is too early to celebrate, and having GDP per capital of few percentage points above poverty levels does not make one an economic leader, because we all still live in a crap hole region.

Let's leave over the top celebrations for something worthwhile, rather than band baja at every corner.

I mean is that even realistic ? China and America still exists you know lol ? And ancient Pakistan is different from modern Pakistan.

Brits claim they made the modern world , technically they did invent everything you use today along with the Chinese

but during the 60s Ayub Khan implemented very impressive reforms
If you have ever followed my threads from the past I place Ayub Khan as the greatest leader [this is not just because he came from a adjoining district from my ancestral village] in Pakistan's history even with his flaws. I only hope his legacy is beaten by PMIK.

President Ayub tickled the American udder, massaged it, know it would gush milk. And it sure did. And no doubt he then implemented impressive policies. He could have been Pakistan's Mahatir but alas he was brought down by a unholly alliance of mullahs and [I won't say or I will get banned].

We had a leader named " Ziahuar Rahman " I think , he was the only good leader in Bangladesh honestly

Did I say otherwise?

And ancient Pakistan is different from modern Pakistan.
So is -

  • Ancient Rome and modern Italy
  • Ancient Greece and modern Greece
  • Ancient Egypt and modern Egypt
  • Ancient Sumer and modern Iraq.

True.

Ps. Do you expect to see President Sisi to get entombed in a Pyramid or write instruction in hieoroglyphics?

Anyway I got distracted. Congrats to Banglas. Adios .....

Our population doesn't suffer from bloated delusions of grandeur, identity crisis and inferiority complex, nor do we want to be something we are clearly not; Go figure, If you have brains.

That is our natural resource, Human resource with actual brains, not hurr durr primate-esque chest beating.

Come back with something cleverer, this is too pathetic to be even deemed as 'trolling', your annoyingly childish outbursts are adding nothing to the discussion at hand.
I like one party state, they get the work done. However, hasina not promoting Islamic banking is a really bad thing. survival of the fittest is a must. Apart from that, your foreign policy and military are bad, which needs an overhaul. charity begins at home and Pakistani should not bash a county with higher per capita income unless they have substantiated wealth to brag.

Really, economic leader, what way? Leaders take decision, shape up decision and have inner strength to sustain. Had "Bangladesh" achieved such qualities?

Before cutting and pasting article (diplomat or whatever, we know how these org operates) have you thought of reality vs flattery? Why not share some of that?
Partisan psychopath who never sees any good and cut/pastes trash from Jamati propaganda sites shows the gall of questioning the judgement of others.

being slightly highest in percapita among south asian nations isn't something to brag about, not like the per capita income is like singapore.
You may be true about this per capita thing, but note also that "Morning shows the day". Note that the world's most renowned Newspaper has written an article on the BD future economy. You cannot just brush it away.

We are not competing with any country, let alone a big India. We are just trying to fight off poverty that engulfed us immediately after the Battle of Plassey in 1757 AD. We want to rise again and take a respectful place in the world.

The Diplomat has noted that a new Economic Zone is being established with the help of Tokyo. If Japan has a long-term commitment it means something. Japan will probably export finished goods to the African countries where natural resources are abundant. We will see thousands of our people employed in those technology-based companies.

China is also competing in Africa for natural resources, but China labor wages are less than 1/5th of those of Japan. So, Japan has good reasons to build many processing plants in BD, but China may not feel that way because its labor costs still remain cheap.

Bangladesh Zindabad!!

I am aware of this opinion of Pakistanis about Ayub Khan but the alternative opinion could be that he was the worst leader or Pakistan. This man is responsible for the breakup of the state of Pakistan. The discrimination policies against Bengalis essentially started in his era which continued to grow and exploded in 1971. He also single handedly killed democracy in Pakistan and started the military rule culture; much of Pakistan's problems stem from this.

Bangladesh is a disaster waiting to happen. Rising sea level is going to make most of the plains uninhabitable. Imagine hundreds of millions of climate refugees.

The smell of curry is strong on this poster !
