Somnath temple to restrict entry of non-Hindus

Sorry, you have no idea of the amount of nuisance that can happen in situations like this. It is not just the orthodox temples which are for banning non-Hindus entry, even liberal places have started enforcing it, because they simply cannot keep minding and correcting people every day, every minute.

Goa temple bans entry of foreigners, others impose dress code - The Times of India
Even if these things are happening, banning is not a solution and how can one implement it.? When thousands are visiting daily.Jain's,Sikhs,Buddhist all are non Hindus how many cases one can see them doing such things ?,it is better to allow everyone but have strict regulations and make sure any anyone doing such things is behind the bar even if he is a Hindu.

I do not think the ban is on Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists. It is only on non-Dharmics. Hindu is a term used to often explain all Dharmic faiths in India.

Good question. It's why it is a stupid rule. Only foreigners can be identified in this manner. If a Muslim or a Christian walked in, no one would be the wiser unless they themselves brought it to attention. Don't know if they will ask Sikhs to step aside since they are identifiable. Idiotic.

Rules are Rules. Stupid or otherwise. There are a million rules out there in the world which can be questioned.

If people are unwilling to offer residence on rent to certain faiths, it is unreasonable to expect them to convert a temple into a public space where one can even urinate.

A Temple is NOT a public space. It a House of God. Not everyone gets entry. Try walking into the Presidential palace and cry discrimination when they do not let you in.

Nope,Its not with Tamil Brahmins,I am talking about non Brahmin, non Dalit groups like vanniyar,Thevar etc...They are the most Dalit hating groups..
just google-'Dalits in Madurai' for more.
Dalit caste violences are very common in Tamilnadu, the last main one was in 2012..Google-Dharmapuri violence..

Then its is more political than religious. The side effects of "Periyar philosophy" and reservations.

yalla kadenu ogi nodidira neevu??.
I am not joking,There are many such areas in Tamilnadu..Ever heard about Two glass systems in hotels(one glass for dalits and other for others),They are not permitted to wear slippers or can't tuck up their lungis while passing through some caste Hindu areas..Same in the case of Dalit Christians,So i don't think its limited to any religion, more to do will their culture and living environment..
If you want to showcase all as good and perfect,continue..

That is bullshit man. It is very difficult to differentiate people on basis of caste anywhere, especially so in TN. In some villages maybe there is a fight going on between these groups and this is a fallout of that.

Depends on the temple. Kali puja and a lot of Shiv puja involves sacrifice, where meat is kept in front of the deity. Ancestor worship also entails meat as part of offerings. Vaishnava temples on the other hand are strictly vegetarians.

What kind of nonsense are you saying ? Ancestor worship i.e. during Pitru Paksha eating non vegetarian food or even including onion and garlic in the food is strictly forbidden.

In fact Darbha grass is used for sitting to negate all impurities. The grass is even wound around the finger to keep the offering pure.

The only offering made (Pind Daan) is rice, sesame seeds and balls made from barley flour. This is again to keep the offering simple and free of impurities.

I am not sure if you are referring to any tribal practice of offering meat during Pitru Paksha. It is certaily not mainstream Hindu practice where Shuddhi is taken seriously. Non veg is ultimate Ashuddhi. No one would make his offering impure by burdening the offering with the sin of taking a life.

drop your pants if you are male well that will solve Jewish and Muslim question.

I said no pointing to zipper of my pants

And you have forgotten this cannot be adopted considering how they went gaga in a stadium, after our hockey team took off their shirts in joy :D, we are talking about Mandir here :fie:

I do not know if I was referring to Pitru Paksha, but I have seen people offering all the favorite food items of the departed when they worship their ancestors. In fact, in Coorg, they offer alcohol and meat both in their ancestral shrines.

The Kodava's (coorgi) practices are more or less Nair practices.

I have never come across them offering non veg during Pitru Paksha as they are primarily Shivites. I cannot say this with absolute certainty. I have to look into it.

How are they going to determine if one is Hindu or posing as a Hindu ? :what:

Don't point to zipper of my pants okay :p:

The same way Saudis identify non muslims who enter Makkah and Madina (who by the way face immediate deportation and lifelong ban from entering KSA if caught

Well good for you, but do remember Saudis restricted access of non Muslim to cities and you are talking about adopting same procedures for a Temple. Anyhow why would I care, I would enter Temple here in Pakistan if I wanted to after seeking permission and if granted, just for the sake of experience in the most respectful way possible for me being a Muslim.
