It's not a soft Image for Pakistan, it in fact reinforces the harsh part, "by saying she is standing up to terrible inustice where girls are shot for going to school". Think about it. Another recipient, from China, Liu Xiaobo, was called a human rights defender was given the award, again reinforcing western views of China.

I have repeated this over and over again, it comes down to values... If the values on both sides do not match there will be no peace.... A more dis ambiguous way of putting it is there is no intent of treating each other as equal people. Both sides have passive undertones where the notion is we are superior to the other, and both sides hold deep suspicions about the counter parts which has been actively promoted over the history of inception due to misdoings of the few.
So unless common values are inculcated there is no chance of peace...just my 2 cents

There is a solution if India allow independent media in IOK and independent UN observers and independent UN plebiscite for Kashmiris to vote on whichever country they want to join

Unfortunately Indians will not do either three or their secrets will come out and they will be named and shamed for human rights violations in Kashmir. Their whole "holier than thou" attitude towards Pakistan will fall apart after that

Pakistan's problem? Unrealistic ideas ! Assuming that India will give them something for nothing.... That's a fool's errand. If the plight of Kashmiris is your concern, use talks with India to get them more rights, ask for more contacts with Pakistan etc. If territory is the concern, India simply won't oblige. It's why Siachen doesn't get resolved. Pakistan brings nothing to the table except its demands. No one is interested.

I don't care what UNSC has to say about Kashmir. UN hasn't done anything helpful in Kashmir yet except fueling the fire. We need independent plebiscite, independent observers, and independent media. Why would the worlds largest democracy object to that?

This kind of reasoning is why Kashmiri issue is at a standstill. Indians don't want to hear anything from Pakistan about Kashmir.

You can't take Kashmiri out of their centuries owned land.
