Society, Women and Behashti Zewar

Quran Pak with translation and short notes on the side columns, but never went for full fledge Tafseer, because for my limited capacity I did not feel like reading a Tafseer to understand complex matters. :)

Sir ji Tassawwuf ka he to poch raha ho, anything on the lines of Shahab Nama or Ali Pur Ka Aili, for novels I wouls suggest "Razia Butt" :D
For Tasawuff read book of Hazrat Ali Hajveri and Sheikh Abdul Qaddir Jillani and Imam Ghazali

Interesting. My elder sister used to read novels from Guy de Maupassant, she was at convent and I guess picked up flair for his work from her colleagues. I read some work from Maupassant though I received some beating from my sister too for his work is sort of vulgur. At any rate, when I read Manto, I forgot Maupassant for Manto was/is as vulgar (well) but wow, just wow.

:P true I was snubbed by some people for praising Manto. Well see I am fascinated by the fact that how Manto in his writings and Saddiqain through his paintings have praised or portrayed or for that matter narrated the beauty of human body and reactions attached to it which we though can described scientifically too.

But it is more fascinating that people from this part of the world had been so artistically in love with something that is often considered a taboo

OK, try 'Tazkira e Ghusiah' by Hazrat Ghous Ali Shah Qalandar Qadri. Mushtaq Book Corner, Urdu Bazar Lahore. I warn you however that Urdu is pretty non-standard as per today's norms.
How could you ignore Hazrat Khwaja Shamsuddin azeemi's collection, especially when we are talking about spirituality?:D
I have read almost everything.I have read Naseem Hijazi,Ibn e safi,Ashfaq Ahmed,Ibn e Inshah etc...was reading Aliester Crowley as well, but felt sick after going through few pages and left.Instead I downloaded dream psychology by Feud:D
Regards

I told you to read because I thought you are a Muslim and if I am right than read Quran and Tafseer and Hadees and lives of RASOOL SAW. I just tell what ALLAH has told in Quran and his RASOOL SAW in his Ahadees and Sunnah so if you issues with that I can't do anything but ALLAH knows how to deal with people.

Zarvan I may have studied more than you. To find out difference i had studied many tafasir primarily to check if there is any grave difference between interpretation.

Above all I have studied Quran with translation and I can argue with you over many things when you bring Quran as reference in some of your comments.

So my question was particularly about this book

At one point of time I was an avid reader of 'Roohani Digest' but with time I moved on to lets say more authentic work. Not that Azeemi saheb's work is not authentic but I was more impressed by others. How about Masnavi Moulana Room?

Hast Quran dar Zuban Pehlawi

Hazrat Ali (RA) is the Imam of Tassawwuf, followed by Hazrat Abdul Qadir Gilani (RA) and then come Ali Hajweri (RA), and many others. However, before reading Shakespeare, you begin with ABC. That is why I recommend 'Tazkira e Ghousia' as starter and then to move on to the work of others including Masnavi Moulana Room, Kashaf ul Mahjoob etc.

Moulana Room was a great Aalim but had access to Qaal only, not Haal. Once he was reading books in his palace near a fountain. Moulana Shams Tabrez passed by. He asked Moulana Room: Een cheest? What is this? Moulana Room looked at that beaten up old fellow and said "Een cheest key too nami danum", This is what you do not know about. Moulana Tabrez threw those books in the fountain. Back in those days, books were all hand written and not printed hence rare and expensive. Moulana Room became very angry and shouted "What did you do?, you know the value of these books?". Moulana Tabrez smiled and recovered the books from the fountain. When Moulana Room opened up those books, not a word was lost and books were same as before. Moulana Room became astonished and in his astonishment asked "Een cheest"? It was Moulana Tabrez's turn to say "Een cheest key too nami danum". Moulana Room sacked everything and became as disciple of Moulana Shams Tabrez.

This is from the foreword of the Masnavi Moulana Room. Do go through it, Though you'll only enjoy it thoroughly if you know Persian but still, Urdu translation is still pretty good.
