Should PDF allow religion/religious topics to be discussed ?

There is an easy solution to this problem.

Heavy moderation and banning for any takfir. Any member who promotes Sunni-Shia nonsense should be banned from that forum.

Keep Non-Muslim (mostly Hindu, sometimes Ahmadiyyas) trolls out of Islamic topics. Ban repeat trolls.

Keep conversation tied to religion plus defense, geopolitics, history, literature, economics, Sufism, and sources based on authentic scriptures.

I second. Inflammatory stuffs on the secondary/tertiary matters need to be "religiously" avoided in this forum...

Please don't spread misinformation. The Holy Quran is to be interpreted using a set of stringent rules. Not everyone has the ability to interpret it. And as far as Iman and the Fraidh (Obligations) are concerned, all Ahl-e-Sunnat Wa Al-Jama'ah are united.

Rather i have another thought...rather than religion, i beleive each nation is a subset of multiple culture..Culture is a beutiful aspect of a society...So why do not we start talking about unique and nice things about each other places where they belong to???
For example..I have been told by Pakistan friend that the people in FATA are very hospitable and treat guest ad their matter of honour...he says many traditional stories about that region..It creates positive vibe about that place...Same thing goes for few places in India too...

In that way, we will understand people and their way of living without encroching sensitive aspect of religion

With all due respect to the moderators and their rules on PDF, I love staying on PDF reading and interacting with members from various countries and cultures around the world , but there is one thing that bother me is that why PDF has the rule against opening or discussing religion or religious related topics ? I understand that trolls somehow over shadow the thread and people get emotional over some comments, so i want to propose a proposition here .

So like we have various sub-threads in members club and senior members club where only Senior members can visit and comment, Moderators can create a Thread in Senior Member section and only Declared Muslims can and should be able to discuss or comment on it, any troll , Non Muslim or agnostic can refrain from commenting and if someone does he/she should be banned instantly , like this no one will dare trolling such threads .

I think we all can share our knowledge on Islam with each other, discuss various ideas and ideologies and how it can benefit our country , and how it can help bring our people out of extremism , i know PDF is not the right platform but we can not neglect the military History of Islam and how Islam as a religion influence the outcomes of some battles which change the course of history . I hope moderators will think about my proposition and do something about it .

They always turn to hell bro, only a minority of folk seem to be able to discuss religion in a reasonable manner.

I can seriously irk almost 99% of Muslims present on this thread with my views (on Islamic history practiced as Islam my majority). including @M. Sarmad (don't worry I am working on those verses) ......

And by the way Islam is in Quran only and nothing outside the Quran, so why two Muslims should discuss Islam with each other when they have Quran copies in their homes? Quran can be interpreted from Quran only, you don't need a cleric for that, and there is no place for clergy in Islam in any case.

It should be Non Muslims asking questions about Quran.

The traditions are concocted history, lies invented and generated to distort the real Islam, malign the Messenger and his companions. That history is just hi story ...... not Islam. So actually it should be that Islamic false history reported for centuries and written by some very dubious characters .... discussed, debated and refuted. But again that can only happen when you are a Muslim and not Sunni, Shia and further sub sects.

There is no such authoritative scholar of Islam. There are many schools of Islam and there are many disagreements among them. So, even if non-Muslims were to respect the thread and not comment, self-identified Muslims would still make the discussion a shambles.

Problem is not with disagreement rather how people interact & behave. We disagree with each other all the time whether the subject is religious or non-religious. So what needs to be discouraged is the misbehaviour and abuse ..and not the discussion itself but the wooden heads cannot understand this. Otherwise on this same so called defence forum, people post 90% of non-defence related stuff... song, videos, tourism etc
