may god protect Kashmiris but let me speak something dictated by common sense (i know i might get a permanent ban for it but anyways) neither of our countries(not talking about common people here) want Kashmir to get its freedom because both of us will lose a great chunk of land to a new state so only two possible solution remains
1)joint control of kashmir like mushi envisioned.
2)making loc a permanent international boarder.

That is true. Neither Pakistan nor India can afford an independent J&k - because it won't be allowed by China even if we withdraw.

The Chinese claim anything which was under them even for a day, and the Northern Areas along with Ladakh and Gilgit, were under Tibetan influence for brief period in history.

If both India and Pakistan withdrew, they will come in. This is what Kashmiris don't get.

LC needs to be made into IB. Anyone wants to shift out of Kashmir proper should go, and thus must be made into an iron clad agreement between India and Pakistan. Sense, but your 'ideological' nationalists will bay for blood if any such thing is planned - so stupidity will continue

I've said this in an earlier post of mine, one if the earliest. Those Kashmiri not happy in India, should leave peacefully. To move to where they feel they would be happy. Relocate. Complete the last remaining mass move of partition.

But where I do not agree is open borders. And free movement. That is never going to be acceptable or workable. We are a long long way away from an Indian Schengen. If ever.

truth is we will have to include gilgit baltistan too in the plebiscite and let assume for a moment Kashmiri vote for freedom over come gilglt and baltistans votes to stay with us. we will lose our only land contact with china, cpec will go down the drain and china might lose interest in us taking all its investment away.we will lose our remaining rivers.and these are just few main points.

It's not their land only.

No more than the land I am living on belongs only to me and my family.

A nation is a collective. Within the boundaries of my nation a saat baara ensures only I get to use it.

Till my collective needs it for the greater good. Like a dam. Or an expressway.

Then I need to move. And my government will compensate me.

That is of course as long as I am a citizen. And am staying in India.

Our family had been living in Lahore for many centuries, when partition happened my great grandfather has to leave all our property back in Lahore and start our lives from scratch in India. He only had 14 rupees in his pocket when he came to India. This just didn't happened to my family, but to 20 million people in 1947.
