What's new

Set us free, plead Saudi princesses

Far from all obviously but the women are seriously among the best performers academically not only in the US but Europe as well. So that's a very good sign. But that is because they want to prove themselves while the men never need to do that so….

Many Saudi Arabians have conservative views about women. Such as them needing protection and that this field is not for them and that they cannot do this and that. So they are very motivated to proof them wrong.
:D

Please admit you Saudi guys are generally lazy. I am speaking truth here. I can get my neighbor on this forum by tomorrow and he will say so as well. His wife is studying for her doctorate.

You are in the state of mind called denial

Why should we believe in those reports? I have my family, the one that lives in KSA, as a reference point and obviously know KSA very well. Fair to say.

There are some problems when it comes to equality in the Western sense of the word but most is utter nonsense or highly exaggerated. More and more women are having high positions, starting up private businesses, working among men as equals etc.

Also you never answered my question. Why are those 4 kept in a palace against their will while dozens of other princesses have leading positions in the society? Why just those 4?

It makes no sense you see.

Call that denial.

Most importantly we have never claimed to be a Western democracy and never seek to become one. We have our own indigenous system that works fine most of the time although it is not static because societies evolve.

Of course. But far from all. More lazy than the women for sure. But in terms of laziness it is very similar to other ME people and Muslims so I guess we have to look inwards here.

Well another PDF debate. Can't I ban myself for like 2 days or so? That option should be introduced.

Also it can't be that bad. We have model catwalks in Riyadh and Jeddah for Saudi Arabian women although only women are allowed.

Don't believe it? Then check this out. Will just post a link.

Anyway people from the outside will obviously believe everything any media says no matter if it has any truth in it but if people visit themselves then they all realize that it's like anywhere else there are just a few different social codes and conducts than let us say in the Red Light District in Amsterdam. People have similar problems across the world and behave in similar ways overall. Big deal.

Changes cannot be forced onto a society but must come slowly and let the locals live their lives as they prefer.

This Western-inspired moralizing that some liberal Muslims and Muslims living abroad have adopted is really laughable from time to time.

I myself have SOME liberal views and I do not agree with everything in KSA (far from it) but as I said societies do not change overnight.

Next people will discuss hijab's, niqab's etc. and scream "free the poor women" not knowing that at least 90% of the women wear it due to them wanting to wear it. At least in the older generation.

@Aslan I got thread banned in the other thread ( ). Can't post any PM's either. I think that they have disabled the function mate.

Brace yourself Habibi - Desi Bin-Qasim is on the way on call of oppressed women :super:

Anyway if this news is true, which I doubt for the reasons I have written (makes no sense why it is only those 4 while many princesses have important positions - princesses by birth or through marriage), then that is of course a bad thing but I did not get anything from this news? What is the supposed problem exactly? Are they not allowed outside of the palace? How come do they have families then?

What I would have respected instead would be a report about the poor women in KSA or the Afro-Arab women that sometimes face big obstacles.

But this? They are better off than 99% of all women. I find it hard to feel sorry for them but maybe that is just me.

In the country where Islam’s most precious shrine is located, there is no equality, no dignity, no basic humanity extended to daughters, sisters, or mothers

Does the picture associated with the article look like a pair of desperate women being held against their will?

So basically we're being told there are three middle aged sisters being "held captive" in private luxury villas almost assuredly attended to by full time servants as they eat the best meals money can buy along with having, what appears to be, unrestricted access to the phone and internet which they use to send out emails and make calls pleading for help.

Do you honestly believe this garbage?

.ladies I am coming!!

I'm sure the Saudi's can use another Indian to clean their toilets.

Might also be better if you try saving all the female fetuses your filthy people abort every year before commenting on nonsense like this.

The confinement of four Saudi princesses is a reminder that the Gulf states are evil empires, especially if you are a woman - Comment - Voices - The Independent
