Second disaster for Elon Musk, Tesla announces worst ever quarterly losses

See, he burns cash for years and nothing happens. Wallstreet, the US gov willjust print money and subsidize this genius, while private Chinese companies like Linkspace with AI vertical landing technology has got to use mediocre funding to do their research. :enjoy:. Only an indiot can think he is a genius...:rofl::rofl:

Are you kidding? You don’t even have a hard currency You can print at will with almost no ramifications. Your own banks won’t even convert large amounts of Yuan to a hard foreign currency because it has so little value.

So you are not denying the Americans are printing money and the world is subsidizing Elon? Are we talking about China or America now? In China, we can;t print like the US without causing inflation since our currency is not fully convertible. Other countries are not subsidizing our development, hence we have to work hard and plan our finances properly unlike wallstreet burning cash Elon.

hard currency means currency with little fluctuations and China currency actually dropped from 6.2 to 6.8 and now back to 6.3 after stabilization. Our currency is actually quite stable compared to alot of countries. This currency is backed by the largest US reserve on earth, and why do we need US reserve because the system US forced on to others to subsidize their consumption and debt is in dollars, we have no choice., BRI is an attempt to enable countries to have an option of trading in Yuan, thereby breaking the American monopoly.

Are you coherent? What do you mean our banks don't convert yuan to foreign currency? We freaking have 3 trillion in reserves. Our currency might not be as valuable as US but it's backed by the real economy not your casino wallstreet. We produce tangible goods and services.

The whole world is printing money. The only difference is some currencies can be easily exchanged by banks while others are so worthless their own banks won’t take it.

Call up the main branch of your bank and ask if you can exchange 1 million Yuan into US Dollars or Euros. They won’t do it.

Yuan is not fully convertible but this does not mean it's worthless, it is backed by the largest industrial base on earth, the reason it's less used is because of US dollar dominance. If it was worthless, it won't be on the SDR, it might be less popular than the USD$ but only indiots like you think it is worthless.

The whole world needs to print money, but at the rate commensurate to their growth, no like US printing money and forcing others to subsidize their waste. There is no other economy on earth that would allow you to do an ELON....only wallstreet casino..:partay:

What do you mean our banks don't take our money? Are you high or something? All Chinese banks have to use yuan in China genius.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:.

Call up a Sg bank and see if you can do the same genius. Any large amount of 'private individual' exchange is suspicious, and if you have a trading company, that's different. How do you think we trade to the tune of TRILLIONS if we don't allow exchanges genius.

Btw, stop changing the topic, the topic is about Elon bleeding cash and indiots like you think he is a genius. 600 MIL in one quarter. That's epic....the real revolution is by BYD, they introduced more electric cars at a more affordable price to more people on earth than boy wonder elon. You heard anyone praising Mr. Wang?

I could almost guess that the thread would be infested by butt hurt chinese only.

Considering that SpaceX achieved much more than the famed chinese space agency achieved across several years but more than that their BFR profect (with go-live date of 2021) with ability to lift 250 Tonnes to LEO would far far outstrip anything which china would develop till 2030.

Let me not even start with their Long March 5 super fail and inability to go anyway near Mars

They think a non fully-convertible currency like Yuan can replace a fully convertible currency like dollar that too backed by deep bond market !

Outdated, it has now missed both Mars AND the asteroid belt.

https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/6/1...y-roadster-orbit-asteroid-belt-elon-musk-mars

@HannibalBarca, if Elon MUSK wanted to boost his own ego (as usual) then he could have sent a name card with his name and picture on it, and maybe a vial of Elon Musk. Which doesn't weigh a freaking ton.

Not a heavy car, that is a huge waste of the lift capacity. Which could have been used for something useful, like a probe, a measurement device, an imaging device, or something for space research.

Hell, he could have given the Tesla car to a random family on Earth and made them very happy, instead of launching a huge piece of space junk to boost his own ego, yet again.

The only real difference between Elon Musk and Donald Trump when it comes to ego, is at least Donald Trump doesn't sound like some weird kind of male perfume.
Exactly the cost of random basic probe wouldnt have been much different than the 100,000$+ car

.
Gotta love all the sudden burn the Chinese members here are feeling by posting anti Elon Musk threads!!

Yes, it is the Chinese members of this forum who have caused Tesla to suffer a $2 billion loss this year alone, almost triple the loss from last year. And it's also the Chinese members here who caused the rocket to miss both Mars and the asteroid belt. :P

Instead of wasting an expensive car he could have just loaded it up with Elon's Musk brand male perfume.

And who said that the car had full performance engines and whatnot ?

Still a waste of money regardless, any family on Earth would have been happy to get that car instead of having a giant piece of space junk that missed its target completely.

At least Elon Musk won't be going into another egomaniacal rage and threatening to fire his employees because he wasn't getting enough press attention.

Dude. Chill !

The car was just barebones model. A great marketing campaign I would say.

Have you heard of top the mind recall ?

I don't think Tesla has a problem in the marketing department, with Elon Musk prancing around the world doing everything he can to be the center of attention (a bit like Donald Trump but with a more annoying name, and less threats of nuclear war).

The problem is that Tesla made net losses of $2 billion this year, almost three times the losses that they made last year. Marketing isn't for the sake of one person's own personal ego, marketing is supposed to benefit the stakeholders of the company.

I mean it wasn't me who brought up the name "Kim Kardashian" in this thread, it was actually someone who was defending Elon Musk's egomania, which to be honest isn't the worst trait to have, certainly not as bad as Donald Trump's boasting of the size of his nuclear button.

That's funny, why don't you read through the thread and see if any Chinese member was boasting about the fact that we are the only country with our own national space station, and that 2/3 space stations currently in orbit are Chinese?

And haven't you heard about this Chinese guy called ELON MUSK who is constantly boasting around the world, threatening to fire employees because he doesn't get enough press attention, all the while his company made a $2 billion loss this year?

Those layoffs are natural in a capitalistic economy. Good thing is, they all were absorbed in the system by other firms.

I just cause Tesla to drop another 6% today in it's stock price.:D

So after Elon Musk sent that Tesla car into space, and after it missed both the Mars orbit and the asteroid belt, another blow:

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/feb/07/tesla-quarterly-loss-elon-musk-spacex

Loss of $675.4m announced day after Musk’s car sent into space in test of SpaceX rocket

The tech billionaire Elon Musk sent one of his Tesla electric cars into space yesterday, a day before the company that built it announced its biggest ever quarterly loss.

Musk’s Tesla electric car and energy storage company lost $675.4m in the three months ending 31 December, the company announced on Thursday, compared with a loss of $121m for the same period last year.

The company has been spending heavily as it rolls out the next generation of electric cars, the Model 3 sedan, a semi truck and other products.

The company has struggled to keep up with is production targets for the Model 3 but said it would probably build about 2,500 Model 3s per week by the end of the first quarter and that it plans to reach its goal of 5,000 vehicles per week by the end of the second quarter.

Well, *now* is the time to buy Tesla stock then, as soon as the sell-off by fools has ended.

Well I guess since the Chang’e 3 mission to the moon was a failure we can call not orbiting a car around Mars (lol at the seriousness of this...as if they were really waiting for some proper Mars alignment or something) a failure.
