Scotland rejects independence, votes to stay with UK

I wonder that does Scotland have a separate histroy? I mean if they stay with Britain they will be a part of rich and developed nation? What is the PROS and CONS for scotland if it would have separated?

People actually believe such an important vote like this will be fair are completely delusional
Western elite will never let the West get weaker. They will do whatever it takes to make sure things go their way.

UK will do everything to stop independence even if they have to make up names and add it into the 'No' vote.
This vote was rigged from the very beginning. The moment the polls got close, the UK intelligence would have been in there.

People that count the vote have the real power.
Bit rich coming from someone whose country doesn't even have a general election  You have never voted in your life

Not much. Scotland would still have the Queen as head of state and be part of the Commonwealth. Only difference is Salmond would have upgraded from First Minister to Prime Minister.

. .
Good for both.... Scotland should remain with UK.....

Salmond was in it for personal gain so **** him, as a Welshman I see myself as British as much as Welsh, most people in the whole of the UK have ancestry from all over the island and further afield, our cultural differences are miniscule really apart from minority languages.

Although when I'm in England I don't feel comfortable, this only applies to London and the south but the people there are just boring and typically English, no joy in them. Northerners are a good laugh, people in the south west Cornwall etc are more similar to Welsh than English and are more easy going.

I dont want independence because I have it, I live in a tolerant society where people from all over the world live in relative peace, plenty of jobs in my hometown, cheap living and plenty to do (Cardiff was recently top of an economic poll naming it the best city to live in UK mainly due to plenty of jobs and cheaper living costs) i get fast internet for cheap, holidays across the world readily available and a passport that can get me anywhere, free healthcare and I get to live in a green and pleasent land where the worst weather is rain and the best weather is more rain.

Scottish, Welsh, Irish or English we are ultimately one and the most defining periods of our nations have been when we were together, we settle things democratically and the people spoke, not overwhelming majority but the press coverage for this campaign must have got loads of people out voting yes who normally would be drinking buckfast and fighting.

Well said, my friend. The sanctity of national solidarity cannot be emphasized enough. Best of Luck always to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

This is only the beginning. This acted as a catalyst for a much larger movement all over Europe.

There will be more referendums and nato cant steal all of them. They want democracy and self determination. Well they got it.

A wise decision by Scottish voters. Breaking the union would have been a disaster.

I would accept a lot of those but a big no no is Kurdistan Turkey, they are only PKK terrorists, Turkey is a democracy.

.
Turkey si not considered a democracy. Unless Sultan erdogan seems like a de.ocratic leader to you. I do agree though that the Kurds are acting like terrorists. That doesnt mean they dont deserve their own state.
So you support PKK terrorists over Turkey's Parliamentary Republic, that's just sad.
