Scotland rejects independence, votes to stay with UK

People actually believe such an important vote like this will be fair are completely delusional
Western elite will never let the West get weaker. They will do whatever it takes to make sure things go their way.

UK will do everything to stop independence even if they have to make up names and add it into the 'No' vote.
This vote was rigged from the very beginning. The moment the polls got close, the UK intelligence would have been in there.

People that count the vote have the real power.

For one, we get to keep that pretty little flag. I was supporting 'No'.
Oh I didnt realise you're in UK.Flags are not visible on the mobile version of this site.

Btw there's another thriller happening in December when Catalan would vote. Some how YES is what is predicted in Spain.

All related to economy , you will probably see a lot more of these if the predicted"economic correction" arrives in spring or winter

Scots and Brits would 've had to divide everything.
Britain would 've been forced into unilateral nuclear disarmament. The Navy’s fleet of nuclear submarines is based at Faslane in Scotland which could cost billions to relocate, leading to the loss of the fleet altogether.
That would have been just ONE of the after effects of a YES referendum.

Then it would have been great for the world and specially for Scotland as they deserve independence.

Speak for yourself matey. I was borderline 'no', then I considered the implications of them leaving. Plus, I'm more lib-dem/labour than I am conservative, if Scotland goes, it takes a huge chunk of those votes with it. For one, we get to keep that pretty little flag. I was supporting 'No'.

Yes I do know about the implications and I was hoping for a No as well. However a bunch of people shoud not have been allowed to break up our Country.

Lib-Dem - bloody Liars - In recent Elections they found out what the public think of them.

Labour made the mess that you see around you nationally and internationally.

Regarding speaking for myself - Check out England perspective and Polls regarding this referendum, I am afraid you are not in touch with the people of England.

In Democracy the majority matters, I am sure you found that out this morning.

I know, and I'm just saying I subscribe more to the 'No' side on this one.

Yup Nick Clegg is a lying prick. They lied, they did exactly what they said they weren't going to do.

But still when it comes to policy, lib dems probably suit me more than the other two.

Labour made the mess that you see around you nationally and internationally.

Wait, clarification is needed here. Are you talking about the deficit or the recession? The structural deficit or the cyclical? Are you talking about the ones that got us in to the credit crunch before the recession or the recession itself? The toxic assets built up by greedy bankers?

Labour's big mistake was overspending, causing an increase in the structural deficit, what happened after 2007 was a different story.

Regarding speaking for myself - Check out England perspective and Polls regarding this referendum, I am afraid you are not in touch with the people of England.

Not what I've been reading, perhaps you yourself are out of touch, and it's one thing to hold an opinion which is what I said as someone living in England as opposed to speaking for the rest of us, which is what you tried to foolishly do in that first post.

Even back in April YouGov found that the majority of English and Welsh were against Scottish independence.

Wales Governance Centre

In Democracy the majority matters, I am sure you found that out this morning.

Yup and guess what else matters mate?

Not being @ss and getting ahead of yourself, otherwise when you're wrong you leave yourself looking like a complete idiot vulnerable to the other guy's response.

That link I gave you quotes the FoES as giving the English opinion of whether Scotland should be independent:
59% No; 19% Yes

So you tell me, just what the bloody hell did you learn today? Don't run your mouth off too much, I can do it too, with twice the effect. :drag:

Rule Britannia! Scotland is STRONG for rejecting independence when independence is not right at this time. if there comes a time in the future when the government (or party) has really, really thought it all through, and has valid answers, then Scotland may well vote for independence.

Salmond's stance was "Vote yes and we'll worry about the details later". Details? Like currency, banks, lender of last resort, the EU, Schengen, etc.

Voting for independence now, just for the sake of independence, would be suicide. And fortunately 55% of the country were bright enough to see that. And the other 45%? Well.....

.
so Alex Salmond will remain First Minister forever then? Poor guy was overambitious & wanted to be a head of state desperately.

:dance3:YOUPIIIIIIII.....:yahoo::bunny:.....long live my motherland. This has shown how democratic and tolerant we are. I don't see many countries who will be willing to hold a referendum for independence in their country. No matter the case/situation. This is how true democracies should act like. I'm waiting for the day China(Xinjiang,Tibet), India(Kashmir, and much of its northeast regions), Russia(caucus region, chechen) Japan(Okinawa's), France(corse), etc will hold a referendum as well for their restless regions. :D

VIVAV BRITANNIA
Haters will hate. :dirol:

Montenegro did. South Sudan did. And lol and behold the results were both yes because they were backed the the US.

It's not the votes that matter, it's who counts the votes that matter. No country will let go of territory without a war.

. .
Well done Brittania. Now pay Mugabe his money in terms of the Lancaster House Agreement :D
