SC: It's' Bangladeshi nationalism:Fifth Amendment Ruling

But how much is the tendency in BD people to claim Indian Bengal or to think in terms of greater Bengal or Greater Bangladesh ??????

So far i havent seen any. On the other hand may be there some very rare sentiments of Indian Bengalis when it comes to ethnicity sharing with BD

We have enough trouble keeping ourselves together due to Indian interference that Greater Bangladesh for now is a distant and unheard of prospect. It is only the West Bengalis who think of taking territory from Bangladesh and making it into a Hindu state. The West Bengalis would love to subjugate the Bangladeshi Muslims like they used to do before the British divided Bengal in 1905. It was for this reason that East Bengal opted for Pakistan.

I think the SC decision goes in India's favour also. The Indians do not fear Bangladeshi nationalism but are terrified of Bengali nationalism which could destabilize West Bengal and especially the North East. If Bangladeshi nationalism was an expansionist concept like Akhand Bharat then India would oppose this. Bengali nationalism on the other hand could have expansionist tendencies like promoting a Brihot Bangladesh.

What India and the AL is doing is to empathize our Bangladeshi nationalism while at the same time undermining our Islamic heritage. A very clever game India and the AL is playing.

Please hold your excitation a bit to realize that such slap in AWAMY hands is very calculable just to trade it off with Jamaati leader's unjust punishment at future. When Amardesh's second coming was getting rejoiced by many here, I suspected that the victory was awarded to legalize Jamaati leader's trial through unjust means. So, there came the rejection verdict against JI's objection about controversial judges.

Now, here comes another one to keep people in foolish paradise as the triumphed of Bangladeshi nationalism over Bengali one doesn't change the Geo-strategical dynamics a bit since Indians are in complete control of BD's affairs, infect it erects a wall in between people of similar looking and practice. Also its impact goes to India's favor as it doesn't want to nurture but exploit us. Furthermore, we get boxed up more tightly by it in the realm of globalization bogus boo. But the most degrading trade off of such 'GIVEN VICTORY' would be lowering 'Moral Bar' in a nation state of 160 million people, which would open the pandora box for further exploitation like giving up family, social and religious values.

My apology to both of you wish brothers. I got excited without gone into depth.

So what else we can do. We might as give up and let AL do whatever it has wish for the coutnry. If everyone turn into Bharati dalals then Bangladesh is full of dalals and it is not worth to fight for that waste land no more.

Fundamentally Bangladeshi court with indo awami instigation had over steeped its boundary. If parliament passes a constitutional amendment on core constitutional issue and Supreme Court strikes it down then parliament or legislative branch of govt is subjugated by Supreme Court and virtually no need to exist. Let’s see this verdict and judges who rendered this in prospective. All supreme court judges who rendered this verdict are Awami League appointed and showed heavily partisanship in their handling of other cases; recently and before.

Judiciary is to interpret the legal opinions not for making the law by striking constitutional amendment. Here is the oxymoronic statement these judges have written in their verdict. These judges cited United States supreme Court role in interpreting US constitution, but Bangladeshi SC judges purposely hidden the fact US SC never strike down any constitutional amendment made by US congress.
By instigating this fiasco and breaking the precedence Awami league virtually undermined and perhaps destroyed role of parliament in writing law.

Funny thing is Awami League will not live by the precedence it has orchestrated. Very fine example is Awami regime signed treaty with india during Sheikh Hasina’s visit. According to constitution government should table and pass these agreements in parliament before implementation. Awami regime is implementing these treaties illegally without Parliament approvals knowing the fact even after the approvals these anti state treaties will be challenged in court.

OK then i still do not understand that why Bangladeshi nationalism is good for Indian designs as you said in your earlier post.

from your earlier post i guessed that its because of Bengali nationalism that India fears might damage its unity

This has been a long long verdict, I have just read briefs and some analysis. Munshi bahi shed some legal aspect if you have chance. Thanks

I think you did a very good job in explaining the legal angle. The Supreme Court has overstepped the bounds of its jurisdiction by literally making law which should be the sole prerogative of Parliament. Parliament is the supreme lawgiver and not the SC. In other words, the SC has usurped the role of the legislature. The SC now has no option but to follow India-AL dictation as 34 judges are under investigation for corruption. There are also the usual judges aligned with the AL.

Bangladeshi nationalism is basically confined to the territory of Bangladesh and at present has no expansionist agenda. Bengali nationalism, on the other hand, is secular in nature and is expansionist and can attract West Bengal and North-East sentiments for a Greater Bangladesh. India fears this latter course more. However, because Bangladeshi nationalism has a strong Islamic identity and heritage it could in future, if it becomes too strong, have an expansionist agenda and claim for itself Muslim areas of West Bengal and North-East. For this reason Bangladeshi nationalism must be kept weak and so the AL is now crushing Islamic and nationalist political forces and so it will become the sole party to represent Bangladeshi nationalism under Indian supervision.

huh.. why you making AL a party to it, when since its inception crave for the Bengali nationalism with greater bengal. what is your take to Bengali nationalism with expansionist agenda? will you rather go for it? i will... ;)

I dont know how long i going to live but i am sure that BD will not be confined within this geographical area in the future.

The judgement was not against BD parliament's constitutional ammendment but the action done outside the parliament under martial law and later ratified by the parliament. Dont twist the fact..
The verdict will only strenghten our parliament

Basically your expansionist agenda is the same as India's - Akhand Bharat.

I more or less agree with you. I never been to BD(though want to some day) but it doesn't take an Einstein to assume the culture would be very different because of segregation after partition, atleast online BD forums suggests so. Racially I have no idea if BD people have any different linage than ours. Well if you people are ready to disown the word 'Bengali', I don't think it will be much issue to people from West Bengal, may be we will change our state's name to Bengal. :azn:

abir frankly we couldn't care less what you change the name to, bengal, galben, engbal, or what ever it has nothing to do with us. Like I said, I am Bangladeshi, from Bangladesh and I speak Bangali, we know who we are.

dude i have nothing against bd but burmese land forces are way more capable than BD and they are experienced in fighting guerrillas. if the fight goes on burmese soil than there is no chance for BD. because burmese mastered jungle warfare. but here are some people those think that bd is more powerful than even USA both economically and militarily.
