This building everyone hates so much is Waqf. All the money this building generates goes directly to support Haram Shareef.

sorry, but excuse my language!. Have you ever been to makkah or madinah ?
I live in madina near quba mosque, and with the crowds its like living in hell!
millions of pilgrims come and thinking that every thing will be easy on them when its not :(

the expanding of the mosque means that you should expand all the city's infrastructure. From transportation to hotels and hospitals. doing that with no space means that you should eliminate unnecessary structures.

building skyscrapers is the only solution, and building them around the mosque is the only way to guarantee that it is done properly. some here said that they should build all these building away from the mosque, well as good as this may sound but it does not work in real life. If the hotels were built away from the mosque then how will the visitors come to the mosque on the time of the prayer ?. they will face the worst traffic that could take them an hour to reach a 5 km ride.

sorry for my bad english :(

They are destroying historical places, idiot, not "unnecessary structures".

Please give me better ideas other than building tall buildings to guarantee that all the pilgrims will find roof on top of their heads when they come here !

Those who do not live here have no idea of what is actually happening. Of the problems and their solutions. You live in Medina and I live 40 Minutes from Makkah. And quite honestly these projects are the best thing that is happening to this place. Solves a lot of the problems we face in our daily lives.

Thank you for calling me an idiot. The thing that you should understand is that makkah and madinah are not a tourists atraction sites, they are only places to do your worshiping and that's it

i understand you have to expand because i know alot of people who are on waiting list to go again and again , but doesnt mean you should bring historical buildings down , there are many examples of cities with historical buildings still there with skyscrapers next to it . Ive seen many people saudi angry with the demolishment of ajyad castle

.
The expansions are nessesary but the billions paid to land/hotel owners are not. No one should own any land within a 10 km radios. Also, they should deport the millions of illegal immigrants in Makkah and invest heavily in the city cleaning and garbage collecting.

I know that some fanatics will call me a munafiq, but I truly hate living in Madina!
The crowds, traffic and the noise makes me sick. Some people thinks that living in Makkah or Madinah is like living in an Platonic town. when it is an actual hell. The rate of criminal activity and the number of illegal immigrants is making these tow town the most unlikely to live in for me.
Noise and traffic in Madinah are nothing compared to Riyadh and Jeddah, but Makkah has a serious problem with illegal immigrants.

Its not about being a saudi, then that means I must agree with every thing the government does. but you must understand that makkah is a town surrounded by mountains. there is no space to build new buildings. The guy who said that a plaza is going to be built is lying. The space will provide roof and shelter for almost 25k people.

corrupt princess and sheikhs are the most dangerous to mankind! :D

Here in Istanbul, we have traffic also but we don't destroy historical places.

By the way it is said that the current Prophet's mosque already accommodates the whole of Medina city at the time of the prophet (i mean the city center and the parts which were inhabited). In other words the current Prophet's mosque is many times larger than the inhabited city at that time.
Nope, not possible. Many important sites are located far far away from there. They werent villagers you know? it was a city.
It's like half the size of Haram, pretty small, it's almost the same size as baqi, so if you look at the space JUST the graves of sahabas(ra) occupy, you can figure out how big houses would take

.
hopefully this time they will use more contemporary Islamic architecture. I Want to know I am in Media, not Monaco.

These Saudis will turn the holy places of Islam into las Vegas, massive big mosques looking modern but devoid of the spirit and teaching of Islam, way to go Saudis.

.
Expansion of Medina is a necessity. With a growing population, we need more room to accommodate all pilgrims. More pilgrims can pray and relax at ease, and reduce the risk of stampede in the high season of Hajj. Beside we have to keep pace with changing times, can't just let it be the same as it was 700 years ago now can we? We should keep modernizing, ISLAM teaches to be modern and developed.:enjoy: Only way to accommodate all the people is to build vertically rather than horizontally. Don't disagree with this project just because it doesn't suit your taste. The rest of the world is constructing new buildings for trade & money but this for Allah and his servants. So please be calm and say Alhamdulillah. Just think how far Muslims have come since the time of our Prophet!

It reminds me of signs of end of time when man would be in race to build the tallest buildings
